My friend once gave me one of his old DB Z DVDs, he told me he never liked Dragonball Z until he watched that particular episode, then he became a fan and really enjoyed it. I tried to sit through that whole episode, I really did, but I just couldn't make it. But I am by no means an anime fan to start with, I don't even watch cartoons other than Simpsons, Futurama and an occasional episode of Family Guy. So since that is not my sort of thing to start with, there really was little to no chance of me ever liking it. I do have Dragonball Z Budakai Tenkacti 2 (sorry, have no idea how it is really spelled) for my PS2 though, and it is a pretty fun multiplayer fighting game, I just have no idea who any of the characters are.
Well a lot of times the anime just drags on faaaaar to looong. I swear.

I'm not surprised sean likes it. He tends to like crappy things.

Doubt you've ever seen it.
You're wrong, as you often are.

Goodness, what is up with slamming people because of the things they like. So what if Sean likes Dragonball Z, I am sure he is not the only one on these forums. Some people would make the same assessment about someone liking Star Wars.

...I'm still kind of trying to figure out why Sean made a thread about DragonBall Z three years after it ended in the US.

which is pretty entertaining and if you can get over the superdeformed look of the characters is a brilliant piece of work.
Of course there are people on these forums who hate anime and japanese culture yet play video games, LOL and probably like transformers which both come from japan, heck this is a star wars forum and a lot of star wars like obi wan kenobi were japanese inspired.Toshiro mifune was originally going to play the part.
BLUE Dragon 360 game is going to rock as well as the anime when it hits stateside.
just a brilliant collaboration the creator of final fantasy, the character designer of dragon ball dargon ball Z and chrono trigger and nobue uematsu who scored most of the epic final fantasy series.
plus anyone who hates something because it is foreign is pretty narrow minded. Kurosawas films are some of the best films ever made.
Plus Akira and Ghost in the shell are great cinema as well as being great anime.
hayao miyazaki's films blow anything disney ever released or will out of the water.
manga art and anime in general and stories blow their american counterparts in comics and animation away, nobody in the west comes close to tezuka, or miyazaki.
most of anime i will admit is bad but some is great and even inspired the matrix.
Not all are pornos or fluff their are some good science fiction anime like i mentioned akira and ghost in the shell which are up their with blade runner and 2001 in terms of thinking mans science fiction. i would include armitage III up there as well.
their are also annoying anime that still make you think wtf? like neon genesis evangelion. make you want to scream at the tv and kick that kid shinji's ass for being a whiny emo bitch much like hayden christenson.

I loved the show back in the day, but the pacing really is quite terrible in places. I love the universe and the characters but someone needs to kick the Toei script-writers in the gonads for stringing a 'five minute' fight over thirty episodes.

I got a set of the Saiyan Saga as a late birthday present and I just forgot how much I loved it, how much it made me happy. Yeah your right The Frieza Saga did suck balls but it ment so much to me when I was a kid. Me and my friends used to play the Japanese games on the emulators all the time, we used to play with the toys and pretend we were the characters. Ah good times.

Dragon Ball first debuted in 1985. Street Fighter came well after that in the early 1990s.
That is Street Fighter 2 your thinking about. Street Fighter came out in 1987 I used KLOV not Wikipedia for this.

Let me put it this way... you SW fanboys think the SE colors are messed up? Take a look at THIS baby. Second screen is from TOEI's remaster, the Dragon Box, first from FUNi's.
And I FREAKIN LOVE THIS ONE
Left :TOEI
Right: FUNi
And one more just for fun...

Edit: Oh and the original Street Fighter was a crappy game that did not resemble the Dragonball series.

I'm interested in seeing this show uncut and in the original language, otherwise the American version was pretty lame.
The new DVDs are uncut and have the Japanese language on them.
