Dario himself could have played a really good Nosferatu type vampire back in the day.
I haven't seen a film of his that I've enjoyed in a long while.

THIS THREAD NEEDS PICS!!
COUNT DRACULAS???
MICHAEL FASSBENDER
JONATHON RHYS MYERS
JASON ISAACS
CHARLES DANCE
CHRISTOPHER ECCELSTON
Of the bunch, Dance is oldest and Rhys Myers is youngest (is that like, one last name? Or a middle name? What is with you British!?!?) County does do a lot of age changing. Eccelston has (IMHO) the best Countly profile... but I look at Rhys Myers and see "eyes burning red like Judas in Hell" or however Harker describes him.
My favorite:
“Grow up. These are my Disney's movies, not yours.”
This is the nearest we have got so far to the real deal:
Patrick Bergin came close but needed a hair cut:
Jeremy Brett was a missed opportunity :
Boosty your Eccleston isn't showing out so here's one from me (yep it's really him) :
Mock up of Chris Drac'ed up :
Hello to Jason Issacs sans hook :
Gerald Butler has already played a Byronic Dracula but he has the nose and the snarl for a more authentic second bite :
Ulrich Thomsen looks rather Drac like if only he was taller :

WHAT IS THIS!!?!? WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN THIS!?!?!?
It is this and I do hope you have seen as much of Jeremy Brett's Holmes as possible, if not go get them Boost.
Edmund Purdom (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0700803/)
played Dracula in "Fracchia contro Dracula"

I've got a troll doll just like that...say isn't that Lando Mollari?
No, it's Franco Canini.
Rufus Sewell has a look of nocturnal gothic cruelty about him and he's a six footer.

Rutger is despite his age, still too obviously physical to be the Prof.
His acts of physical violence should be a surprise.
I would have thought Fassbender too young to play younger Drac but there again :
If you watched Steve McQueen's SHAME, Fassbender doesn't look that young and he has quite a Draculesque role... More "sucked" than "sucking" though... Errrhem.
Stop the presses.
I recently discovered the only woman alive who should play Mina.
And basically any other female role.
And my next wife if possible.
The divine Sierra Boggess
I've only seen her in the Phantom of the Opera performance on DVD... but from now on anything she's NOT in will get a bad review from me.
In a world record for most unneeded link of all time, the google doodle today is for BRAM STOKER'S BIRTHDAY!
Surprisingly book accurate, and IIRC that's the font from the first edition.
Sweet.

It seems Jonathan Rhys Meyers is going to get his day in the sun/moon as The Count in a new show. Sounds like a pretty loose adaption on NBC, but might be enjoyable.
It also seems there's a film in development about the Voyage of the Demeter. THAT might be a very fresh and scary prospect.

More casting for the Dracula show.
I'm not familiar with the actress from "Merlin" that will be Lucy but Nonso Anozie strikes me as an interesting choice for Renfield. Not because he's black, but because he's huge. Like pro wrestler huge.
Color me intrigued, leaning towards optimistic.
Had dinner with my mum the other night. Somehow the Count came up in conversation.
She recalled that when I was in the 4th grade, I wrote a book report about "Dracula's Mustache."
It seems I was troubled that the book has Drac with a stash, and the movies didn't. She said I always complained how "Batman's boss" (Commissioner Gordon) has a mustache in the comics but not on the show.
That reminds me of how, when I was a kid, I hated facial hair and never, ever wanted to sport a mustache or beard when I grew up. Fast forward to today, and I go around sporting a short beard, shaving only once a month after it starts growing unevenly and becomes an annoyance (I admit, though, that this is primarily due to a combination of laziness and a lack of decent razors, not because I particularily like having facial hair).
Don't worry the Master isn't returning.
and what exactly does this have to do with Dracula?
^ A rat infested ghost ship heading for the UK !
oh, now I get it.

Interesting look at the Turkish "Dracula." I've always wanted to see it.
I haven't seen the film yet, but just learned BORIS KARLOFF played a scary mustachioed vampire in one of the segments in the anthology film "Black Sabbath."
Just imagine if Karloff had done "Dracula" in the "House of..." movies.
Very fun to see Dracula depicted with the mustache he has in the books. So far I'd only known about Christopher Lee having done that for his star turn in Jesus Franco's Count Dracula.
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
