Downward Compatibility @ 98% (yes!)

Website looks AWESOME in this latest update! Even older browser versions show properly without “developer view-mode”. Congrats!

Firefox looks great from v.37.0.1 (not all that old).

Opera looks good from v.12.17 (fairly old).
It’s incompatibilities are few and mostly cosmetic:

  • the drop-down bar is not active (when scrolling) but does show at webpage top
  • the right-side circles have extra text (not showing in Firefox) and it upsets the formatting

It occurred to me that the extra text in the circles might be the “view count”. If so, that should definitely be included for display and everything should then be formatted to fit into the circle. (However, I do see where that circle can be problematic. For example, I had to put more space around my avatar for it to display fully therein.)

Thanks for the compliments.

The other text in the circle is the post count. Don’t know why it’s visible in older versions of Opera, but it won’t be fixed (except by accident, who knows).

View count isn’t tracked and isn’t coming back.

Bummer. I found that stat more interesting than post count because unlike post count, there’s no way to know it otherwise.

It’s largely a useless statistic. Every page hit counts as a view, including lurkers (which includes search engine traffic). It doesn’t take long for the numbers to get inflated.

I think the number of subscribers is far more useful and interesting, so I might add that.
