Alright, stop that, stop that!
This thread's getting too silly. I mean, it started with a nice little idea about Adywan being banned on April Fool's day, but now it's too silly. You can easily tell all those members who Frink claims to have banned are still here, and Frink himself isn't even a moderator. Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do...except perhaps my wife and some of her friends...oh yes and Captain Johnston. Come to think of it most people likes a good laugh more than I do. But that's beside the point.

This really is getting ridiculous, isn't it? Good fun though.
On a serious note, I really hope we've got this right and it is an April Fools Joke. It did read relatively convincing on the ESB:R thread, but at the same time I feel like Moth3r would've chimed in (and banned people from) this thread at some point to clarify. I'm leaning heavily toward joke, but I wouldn't be shocked if we've got it all wrong either.

My suspicion is that Adrian wanted a few days off without having to come back and read 5 more pages of arguments and rehashed discussions, and it happened to be around April Fool's Day, so he cooked up this ban/thread lock with Moth3r to kill a few womp rats with one blaster.
That's my hope, anyway.

If this is not an April Fools joke, I think I will probably pack up my things and go. Any site that would ban such an important member for making an April Fools joke in his own thread is not a site I'd like to be connected to.
But the ridiculousness of that last sentence makes me think even more that it is an April Fools Joke.

Well, to be fair, if it is genuine and not a prank, adywan wasn't banned for posting an off-topic link. He was temp-banned for losing his cool in a glorious fashion after a warning, and then perma-banned for creating a sock account and continuing the flame war. Those are justifiable grounds for banning. Others have been banned for similar activity, and adywan has to be held to the same standard as everyone else.
That's if it's genuine.
