Do you watch the entire end credits of a movie/tv show?

I was just thinking about this earlier and wondered what most people do... Do you guys watch the entire end credits of a movie or tv show, or do you stop watching as soon as the credits start rolling??? I watch all the end credits, some people will probably think that's weird, but I really do.

I do, and my wife puts up with it.

But I've caught enough weird pieces of interest that she doesn't complain.

(Like I saw Zombie84's real name in the Incredible Hulk credits, and was like, "Hey that camera trainee wrote one of my favorite books of all time!!!" and my wife was like "wat")

We also both like seeing the "Special Thanks"es at the very end.  You see some downright strangeness in that field.

Also, lots of movies have "stingers," like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Pee Wee Vampire still dying or Adventures in Babysitting with the henchman still hanging on the ledge.

I can't bear the thought of missing one of those.

Yeah, sometimes there is quite interesting things in the end credits, even important scenes after the end credits are over.

Movies, often.  TV shows, never.  But tv show credits are barely legible these days anyway.

Correct, only older tv shows had credits that were actually readable. haha

Most of the time, no. Nowadays I check if the movie I'm watching in the theater has an end-credits scene; if it does I stay, if not I'm out.

There have been plenty of times though that I sat through the end credits because either the music was great, or I was still emotionally wrapped up in the movie to move. "The Master" is a good example of both, I sat through the credits all 3 times I saw it in the theater.

Watching movies at home I'll rarely watch the entire credits.

"The Simpsons" though, I will always watch the end credits of any episode I (re-)watch. Shh!

Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.

I also tend towards watching the end credits as well. Particularly if the sound track is reasonable.

This is why we watch the Ridiculous end credits.  The music is all us-approved.

In theaters, it depends who I'm with. Most of my friends will not stay through the credits, and that's okay. I prefer to, though. It is part of the movie, and there's music and all that. It's a good time to digest the film. I always at least stay through the initial sequence (if there is one) because there's usually often cool graphics and shit.

From time to time. The Marvel movies taught me to do so :)

I do to check if I see somebody I recognize, but aren't too sure if it's them. I usually don't have patience for credits, but these days they like to sneak shit in the credits. Jackie Chan movies usually merit sitting through credits.

A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Well if the score is good I let them roll through (not necessarily reading the credits).

With movies I didn't use to but now that there are no credits when the movie starts I do.

With TV shows I used to but since the credits are always squeezed into a tiny window so the network can show an ad for the show that is going to start as soon as the credits are over I don't bother any more.

One thing I miss is with TV shows and movies dropping opening credits the days of the great theme tune seem to be numbered and that makes me sad:(

^I got into Sinatra simply because I grew up hearing Love and Marriage every time Married With Children came on.

I don't usually actually watch them, but I always leave them playing as it is kind of a nice way to come back to reality from the movie by listening to the music. At the same time I can do the dishes or check emails or just relax. At the theatres I normally leave when they start because of the company I'm with as I don't know anyone who thinks it's normal to stay and watch the credits.

Always.

Cineworld cleaners hate me.

At least with the extra scenes after the end credits of the Marvel movies, I'm not the only one left in cinema anymore.

I always stay through the credits. Not so for television though, especially if there's the risk that they'll spoil the next episode with a stupid promo.

 Oh I hate that!

It's really bad when there is a cliffhanger and one of the scenes in the promo gives away how they get out of the cliffhanger, that is the worst.

It is my policy to avoid all trailers for this very reason...

I seldom ever do. Primarily with old TV shows like Batman. With modern stuff I tend to just leave it on for the video beside it or I'm not really watching just waiting for it to be over for the end credits scene. I came close with the end credits for Buried because I heard there was typos in the end credits. Even then tho I only watched like 80% of it.

Like for some people, it depends on the film and in some cases, the crowds. With most old TV shows, they usually have interesting credits to sit through with memorable ending themes or interesting text designs (and don't come up so fast you cant read the fuckers). Current TV shows I don't care for because most:

-Have video-like credits on black text with bland text and names I don't have enough time to read (This is where the players pause button on DVD and BD releases help)

-And bland and generic themes that make you say "Not sitting through this, NEXT EPSIODE!"

If its a shitty movie or a decent flick that has a ear grating song during the credits, I'm out even if crowds are there. If its something I like, i'll stay not only for any surprises after the credits, but to watch all the punks and bozos that text and blab their asses out, or do something really stupid like shit on the chair or spew out "this movie is gay" remarks. In most cases, I usually wait till the VHS/DVD/BD release to get a real grasp on all details on the credits.

I remember when I was about 5 or so, my parents and I saw the 1st Rugrats movie at a Regal Cinema theater and, believe it or not, I made them stay through the credits to see if this company logo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdO90sxSBiU) appeared after the credits. Oddly enough, this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90U0dYQDft0) appeared instead and while I wasn't startled (this one was a known scary logo that made kids cry), all the kids in the theater were screaming and crying bloody murder over what they just saw. Then my dad was yelled at me because I made out whole family stay though the ending credits and crying kids with frantic parents. I was crying like mad not because of some logo, but because of getting yelled for this credits obsession I have (still to this day somewhat).
