Do you want to see a Remake of the OT?

imagine if in 10 20 or 30 years Disney makes a Remake or Reboot of the OT what changes of the story you will make in a Remake? it would be interesting if they returned to old concepts such as Luke and Leia not being siblings or Vader not being Luke father but i think that if they make a Remake they will be faithful to the original story but it would still be interesting to see the OT recounted differently and with better technology personally i would love to see a Remake

I wouldn’t want that. The only improvement I’d expect with a remake would be the modern special effects, but most likely, every other aspect of the movies would be done worse.

It’d be interesting to see Ewan Macgregor and Hayden Christiansen acting out the OT story, though. Also, if a remake were inevitable, I wouldn’t mind seeing Coruscant/Had Abaddon reinstated into RotJ.

Now, remaking the prequels and sequels is something I would consider more, if they got the right writers and director.

But we can’t turn back. Fear is their greatest defense. I doubt if the actual security there is any greater than it was on Aquilae or Sullust. And what there is is most likely directed towards a large-scale assault.

They should Remake the Prequels after the OT

If a saga remake were definitely happening, I’d prefer if they just remade the films in chronological order. It would allow the story to be more cohesive, and you wouldn’t need to do any recasting between trilogies.

It’s exceedingly rare for remakes to ever be worthwhile. Just iterating over some recent-ish remakes in my head (Robocop, Total Recall) I struggle to find anything of quality. Every now and then something like Dune 2021 comes along, but (A) this is very rare, and (B) it wasn’t a remake of something known primarily as an earlier movie, but rather a new adaptation of literary source material, which is arguably something entirely different. Granted, this is a fuzzy distinction, because something like Total Recall also has literary origins, but very few people are aware of that, so the 80s Schwarzenegger flick is considered the “original” material. At some point in the future, we may start to consider classic movies the equivalent of literary source material like Shakespeare, Tolkien, Frank Herbert, whatever. But as of now, most people don’t view classic movies like that because a lot of our emotional investment in these movies is attached to the specific implementation of the original, i.e. the original cast, performances, etc. I mean it’s really hard to just “remake” Harrison Ford’s Han Solo. (Or maybe it’s not… ?)

Anyway, they already remade A New Hope back in 2015. It was called Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Yes, but only if I’m the one to do it, and only if I’m allowed full creative control.

JJ remade Star Wars Twice. Once as Star Trek 2009 and again as 2015 Force Awakens. Do we really want someone to remake it again?

Do I want to see a Remake of the OT? No. Remakes of films are largely pointless, simply repeating what has gone before and old films that were done much better. They don’t capture the magic of the original, although they do try and capture the money from fans of the original.

Maybe an animated series of the entire Star Wars saga would be more interesting. To see classic events from the original films told from a different point of view, maybe from different characters too. With the goal of a 9 film series being written a lot more coherently.

Maybe even use the original unused script for TROS with the stormtrooper uprising for the final episode?

Or do something different and fun like Star Wars Uncut?

But I think I’d simply rather see a new animated series telling us new Star Wars stories in times and places we haven’t seen before, or rarely seen or mentioned before.

Don’t you want to fight these bastards for real?

This. Exactly This. I have always thought a traditional anime style retelling of the entire star wars saga would be fantastic. It would have to be done traditionally though, none of this CGI fake anime style. I would love the style of art to be similar to something along the lines of Neon Genesis Evangelion or Akira.

I don’t have a problem with anime, but I’d prefer a more western style. Something harkening back to '80s/'90s Saturday morning cartoons.
