Just maybe.....he escaped

He was never actually there; it was his clone surrogate.
I knew it.....I knew it!

Tarkin would have been in ESB if he got off in time.
Peter Cushing expressed a little regret he couldn't be in the sequels.
ROTS cameo notwithstanding, Tarkin should have been in the prequels. Hope he pops up in another Clone Wars episode sometime.
Where were you in '77?
Well I think obviously he survived because Bast asked if he should have his shuttle ready and I think there was enough time for him to get to it in between that last closeup and the explosion.

I actually believe that it was possible. He could have, at the last second, jumped out of the window that he was watching and enter into space and lived there. I know I sound like an idiot right now, but in Star Wars, a science fiction film saga, actually ignores scientific accuracy. There is sound in space, and remember how anakin skywalker and obi wan kenobi were like in outer space right above coruscant, outside of their so called in real life "protective" spaceships, they were practially in outer space without a spacesuit and they could still breathe and survive, unlike in hard science fiction........
So, Tarkin could've survived being in outer space without a wearing a spacesuit on his body......
Tarkin could've jumped outta the window and been in outer space during the explosion, if he had changed his mind at the last moment......
I don't recall such a scene in ROTS.
Jumping out the window of a moon sized space station going nuclear isn't going to increase the odds of survival too much. ;)

Star Wars is science/fantasy not science/fiction.

I'm a mod, actually.
Aside from a couple scenes involving brief decompression of the hull, (which were quickly sealed) I don't recall anybody hanging around outside in a vacuum, except for Grievous.

Now would be a good time to familiarize yourself with the rules around here.

What have I done?!!!!!

Creepy Puppet Yoda vs. Creepy Sex Looks Anakin would be an interesting movie.
Gadzooks! How did you get a frame from Frink's Episode III edit? ;)
Today is the 30th anniversary of the Thriller album.

Well, by that logic, general grevious survived being inside of a vaccum, and besides, didn't obi wan and anakin do that for a little while too??? They surived being inside of outer space without a deep space suit or a helmet, and that's is the point-space opera can violate the rules of science, unlike something like gattaca........
Well, even if it was just for a short amount of time, we would still see the effects of being out in open space without a spacesuit/space helmet........
I presume you've seen the airlock sequence in 2001 A Space Odyssey? Kubrick did his homework.
Grevious is mostly a robot, so I have no problem with his short walk outside.
In that photo, you can clearly see the force field keeping the atmosphere contained in the open landing bay. This technology was clearly established in the first film.

Because it's a fact. If you know the differences between the tow genres you can easily see why Star Wars is classed as fantasy as opposed to Fiction.
^^Ditto. Moreover, you see when Grievous breaks the window and makes his dramatic exit, the air in the bridge is sucked into space and the occupants fear for their lives and can't breathe all that well till those air locks were closed. Father, you seem to have a propensity for arguing the inane.

Please tell me your reasons/opinions on why Star wars is a fantasy, not a science fiction, story!!!!!
