You know what would really be funny: if MagnoliaFan was really George Lucas.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side

Emperor Jar-Jar
“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

I would say he doesn't. There are hundreds of Star Wars sites, if not thousands, and I'm sure he doesn't need to surf the web to know people want the original trilogy.

I think his excuse is bunk for not releasing them. He'd make his money back on restoring them. I just feel like he wants them to be forgotten because the new trilogy is what he's wanted all along, just the technology wasn't there.

I bought his so called original trilogy for $49.00. I don't feel the least bit bad about owning bootlegs because I didn't get what I paid for. In my view, his decision has forced people to bootleg his product. In the end, though, he'll probably release them so people pay double the price since they weren't given the choice when he first released them on DVD.

Like Seiji said, there are thousands of Star Wars sites and even more message boards with Star Wars sections/threads on them. So no, I don't think he does.

(And since we don't know who MF is, how can we be sure he wasn't invited for another reason?)

No. He is not a regular reader of every single SW website there is, and for legal reasons, he can't read what we fans say.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I don't think he knows this site exist, hes a recluse and only thinks about himself. But just in case he does happen to drop by, Fuck You George!!
"Drink the Kool-Aid. Wear blinders. Cover your ears. Because that's the only way you can totally enjoy Revenge of the Sith -- the final and most futile attempt from skilled producer, clumsy director and tin-eared writer George Lucas to create a prequel trilogy to match the myth-making spirit of the original Star Wars saga he unleashed twenty-eight years ago. Fan boys, of course, have convinced themselves otherwise. So have several critics, if you go by early reviews."

Wouldn't be surprised if someone from LFL reads...if not just a low-level flunkie looking for a few laughs at the boss's expense.

I've no doubt that Lucas has been informed about this site, even in some small way. What he thinks about it, I couldn't even guess..

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

Adding onto my previous comment: I doubt he actually reads the forums regularly. But I'm sure he's been here a few times, or has had somebody print out various topics for him to read.

I don't know if he knows.....but I know that LFL knows about this site for sure.

I happened across an article on starwars.com, I believe, that stated that the people at LFL are watching this site very closely.
This was several years back though.

So, if any LFL people are reading....maybe we should have a shout-out thread for them....anything said would be cordial, I'm sure...

But how would you verify that the poster actually represented LFL, much less worked for them?

Sorry...I meant a shout out from us to them. Those candy-ass bastards would never come in here and ACTUALLY talk to us.

I get the feeling all the people in the whole Lucas/Star Wars organization are scared of us. It seems the only way you can talk to them is if you have an officially recognized fansite like rebelscum or theforce.net.

It's us fans without a banner like that that really scare them.

DAMN!!! If only I had gotten to ask my question of Lucas at Celebration 3, I knew what the answer was going to be. I was more interested in the reaction. It would have told us scores about how Lucas really feels about us fans.

Considering they were screening questions, I think they're scared shitless of our type of fandom.

Perhaps we should continue work on the investigative documentary I suggested about an year ago, "Bowling for Coruscant", in which SW fans search for an GL interview while showing what he has done to ruin the O-OT and the SW saga.

There was this film student or something who said he would do it, we even had an early concept and an opening for it, but we didn't talk about it anymore and I haven't seen that person since then. Apart from being a great fan film, it would be a good SW documentary that shows the "other side" of the story, and would be a great way to tell people about our cause and the O-OT. If the media knew about it and the people knew about it, GL would have to give up and release the originals... so he could get more money.
