Idea: 'Do Over' - 2002 WB show... Starring Penn Badgley

If anyone is interested, I have all 15 episodes of this show on my computer, from 2 different sources. I could try and upload a torrent of it somewhere if anyone remembers this unfortunately forgotten show that never had a chance!

I orginally purchased a DVD of the show from ebay, and all episodes contain the original 80s music tracks, but the video quality isn’t the greatest. I found a torrent of all episodes with much better video quality, but episodes 12-15 are from british TV broadcasts and omit the 80s music.

I’d eventually like to try and take the audio from the episodes with the original tracks and splice them with the episodes without the 80s tracks so all episodes have the same video quality and music. But unfortunately I lock the knowhow and programs to do so, but if anyone is willing to help out that’d be great!

This might be a pretty difficult project to do, since the higher-quality video files are (I'm assuming) in .avi or some similar format, and I don't know how easy it is to separate audio. You should probably talk to the folks on the Fan Edit Forum. There seems to be more people there, and they might be able to help you. As far as know-how and programs, trust me, you can make it happen.

AVI's usually easy to handle.  It's the wackier formats like WMV and MKV that are annoying.

The episodes have 2 different formats. The better quality episodes are in MPG format, and the lower quality eps are in AVI format....

First, you should see if the eps in question have the same framerate and running time. If they do, that will simplify things a bit.

You will need a variety of apps for this, something for demuxing the audio from the mpgs and avis, like virtualdub, virtualdubmod, tmpgenc, dgindex.
Something to decode (and later encode) the audio (likely in mp2 and/or mp3 format), like lame, toolame or maybe winamp or foobar2000.

Since they're tv-rips (I assume?), most likely the audio will not match up completely without some editing, so you'll also need a multitrack sound-editor, like audacity.
Load both tracks in the editor and match the 'new' track up to the one you're replacing. You may need to make a few edits/cuts here and there. When you're done, you just need to save the edited track, encode it again and mux it back with the video.

This sounds like an great project :)

Its probly mine upload from demonoid im assume?

In 2002 ive downloaded VCDs of episode 1-11. (remember one episode had crappy sound)

Then ive downloaded disc3of3.iso recorded from British television and those files did not contain orginional songs instead some kareoke or something.

Anyway i encoded the remaining episodes into vcd ntsc and fed the deamon.

Some years later and, then i recorded the show from swedish television (DVB cap) but same here not original music :( and it got burned subtitles all over the picture) or maby in someway combine sources over subtitles.
