I guess he would be a bit resentful towards the pesky Skywalkers.

If they could make Jeff Bridges younger for Tron Legacy, aging Ewan to Alec Guinness' age in Episode IV ought not to be a problem. It might even be possible to resurrect Alec the way Marlon Brando was brought back for Superman Returns.

...

The young Jeff Bridges looked weird in Tron Legacy.  Not bad, just not quite right.

However, after watching the work that was done with Chris Evans in Captain America, I think they could make anything work.

It worked in the context of the film and it's digital world.

If Obi Wan appears in the sequels, it's going to be a hologram or a ghost. If the CGI hasn't advanced since Tron Legacy, (which seems unlikely) that will cover up any limitations.

WINDU : I will leave you as your father left me, with one hand, scarred by Force lightning and suffering the effects of a very long fall... Oh you did that too, did you do it all in one go?

I'm glad he loves the franchise as much as he does, honestly. I like when actors are fans of what they're working on.

Sure, bring Mace back. Hologram or something. I'm cool with it.

Make him the new Yoda.

That way *whispers* you can risk killing Luke.

Mace can take his purple lightsaber and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I think Samuel L. Jackson just didn't get what he was expecting in the PT and is jumping at the chance to be involved in a truly good Star Wars movie;)

I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't.  Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.

Maybe he can return more machine now than man...

I actually don't see how he or Ewan can return unless maybe it's as ghosts, in which case there would a lot of force ghosts running around (we already have 3)

Jackson wants to be a part of something that's going to have a lot of exposure and make a lot of money.

It's that simple. He even said so. "I just want to be associated with the franchise." Things couldn't be more blunt.

“Grow up. These are my Disney's movies, not yours.”

Gosh, I really really hope no actors from the PT reprise their roles in the new ones. I have nothing against Jackson or McGregor, but their characters just don't belong beside Luke, Han and Leia.

Okay, maybe the long-haired shirtless sexy Hay Chris can make a cameo.... BUT THAT'S IT!

If there's a logical reason for Obi Wan to reappear, then it boils down to whether Sir Alec is recreated or Ewan gets made up to look older. Having anyone else play the role will not go over well with fans.

I really don't see any major PT characters coming back, as they're mostly dead by the end of ROTS. ;)

Jackson is an unashamed fan of the films and clearly enjoyed the prequels enough to still be involved - don't judge everyone by your own shallow standards, georgec. I remember seeing Jackson make his plea to be in episode one way back when he was on TFI Friday; he was giddy as a schoolboy. It doesn't matter so much that it would be hard to justify Made Windu being in the movie but, as Tyrphanax says, it's great to see an actor with passion for what he's done, enough to want to come back for more.

Try refraining from calling people who don't agree with you shallow.

Mod-in-waiting alert.

I said his standards were shallow, not the man himself. If you're going to step up to the plate, Bingowings, at least be well prepared.

What's a mod-in-waiting alert?

Naturally I didn't think you meant he was flat and close to the floor.

This is a discussion forum so we only have what we write to make a judgement on each other from and you said what he wrote was shallow, ergo you said he was shallow.

Besides I'm far too abrasive and odd to even consider a moderator position.

I'm commentating as a user of this forum.

If you want people to act in one way try looking at your own posting history first.

Pat Condell has got a big bum.

You think that criticising someone's comment or their standards is making a criticism about them personally? "Your taste in ties is awful" equating to "you are awful" for example? "Your politics are abhorrent" being the same as "you are abhorrent".

What an interesting (and somewhat limited) outlook.

You ought not to concern yourself with my posting history, bingowings. I don't recall being anything other than civil to you on this forum. I think I'll have to be more careful with you in future, though; looks to me like you're keeping some sort of record on me. I'm not really into stalkers, thanks; I get enough of them in the real world, let alone in cyberspace.

It's easy! You just have them show up in some hologram (or holocron, even) that Luke finds in the Jedi Temple or somesuch that teaches him about Jedi history or whatnot.

No, he "gets" them stalkers... ie he "understands how they feel and think" which ultimately means that he has no intention of becoming intimately informed of the inner workings of Bingowings. ;)

Easterhay, I truly mean no offense by this, but most of the regulars here have a working memory of your posting history on the site. You're not singled out - everyone kind of keeps tabs on everyone here, because personal preferences and opinions help us know how to interact with each other in a civil way.

Your personal posting history has been of interest simply because you came into this community with very strong opinions that you will vehemently defend - as well you should. In many applications, the best defense is a good offense (which is frequently how you come across) but forums really don't work that way. Forums operate on the principle that nobody should ever be on the offense. Everyone has a point to make and defend, but by sticking purely to defense we avoid an issues caused by offending other people. Try and look at a few of your posts objectively - you may know how you were feeling when you wrote them, but the rest of us often don't. Which is why often you're met with less than sympathy. Trying to help, not attack, seriously.

Now, back to the one armed Sith bent on revenge - Darth Mace :)

Please, please, please don't include Samuel Jackson (or any other PT actor) in the sequel films. The last thing the ST needs is overt association with the prequels. Even the most-likely-inevitable inclusion of PT terminology (padawan, youngling, battle droids, midichlorians, etc.) will only serve to highlight how far the Star Wars franchise has fallen. But overtly featuring PT material visually (like showing elderly Boba clones, including the stupid padawan-braid, or casting any of the PT actors in these films, except for Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew) is possibly the worst decision that the new franchise owners could make.

I agree, I've divorced the Prequels from my mind, it would be an utter shame if the new films linked to that shite

I really hate to break it to you guys, but it's likely going to happen. The Prequels are part of the "saga" now, unfortunate though that may be, and crappy as the films undeniably were.

I don't see how you could expect otherwise.
