One movie every 2-3 years? Try 2-3 movies produced EVERY YEAR.

Yeah but you have to remember Kathleen is not a Star Wars nut. She's a respected and legitimate producer. When they very first announced that George was stepping down back in June, Kathleen expressed then that she wanted to make movies. None of us assumed then that she meant Star Wars movies and likewise now, I doubt that's what she means here. I think we're going to start to see Lucasfilm branch out and become more diverse in their film catalog.

At the 10th anniversary con, George promised more Howard the Duck. And I'm still waiting. ;)

That's some faster, more intense film production right there.

More movies? Non-SW? Okay, but...

...the last LFL movie I enjoyed was ...from 1980s. (haven't seen Radioland Murders, is it any good?)

I'm an aviation fan, so I looked forward to Red Tails, and what a disappointment it was. Their CGI division should be tied to a chair and forced to watch WW2 documentaries, aircraft dogfight guncams or even a damned Red Bull Air Race, anything, so that they finally learn how to make aerial sequences. Even 1927 Wings was better! (yes, I watch such stuff)

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

Red Tails and Radioland Murders were two films George had been trying to get made for literally decades. I don't think he has any other such pet projects left on the boards.

There are a lot of Lucasfilm properties that can be mined for movies. Remember all the cool computer games they used to make?

GOG.com and the community there have been after LucasArts games for quite some time. Would love to play some of those old games like Tie Fighter again.

They make 2-3 Marvel movies some years.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Ah, Super Shadow, I forgot all about him after the PT was finished. Good times :)

Reading his site is like watching Backstroke of the West

I guess we should all bow to him for getting Episode 7 rolling, tee hee!

(I actually meant to post this in the Ep. 7 thread where SS was referenced.. oops. But it's still relevent here.)

Ponder this:

Which will get a DVD release first?  The Star Wars Holiday Special or Disney's Song of the South?

Discuss.

SOTS, as a region free Blu Ray in Europe and Asia, sidestepping all the idiots who would decry a U.S. release. Probably timed to the 70th anniversary in 2016.

The HS would probably need a little cleanup and restoration, hopefully by people who know what they're doing.

You know, I understand their reticence to release Song of the South, but couldn't they do an online special-order exclusive thing where adults with credit cards could buy it?
