Disney Acquires LucasFilm for $4.05 billion, Episode 7 in 2015, 8 and 9 to Follow, New Film Every 2-3 Years — Page 28

I'm very certain all the Lucasfilm films are still with their respected owners (the Star Wars Saga being with Fox for example), but what about the Ewok Adventures, Droids, Ewoks, the Clone Wars micro-series, and the Lego Star Wars specials? Are they still Fox or does Disney owned them now?

What are the chances of seeing the UOT on blu-ray now, with Fox still owning the distribution rights and all?

The odds are 3720 to 1.

I feel like this thread is going in circles.

- Someone asks if Fox will release the OOT because they 'own' the distribution rights.

- Then someone corrects them a few posts later, saying that Lucasfilm/Disney decides when they'll release the OOT...not Fox.

- Then, a few more posts later, someone else asks the same question again, etc.

I was thinking this last night because it seems every page has the exact same three questions on it. =P

I'm actually decently hopeful for Episode 7 with Michael Arndt writing.

Things like writing out Bo Peep (and quite a few other toys) could have been disastrous in Toy Story 3, but it was handled with so much class. The story was boiled down to its essentials, leaving the bare minimum to carry it forward in a natural progression. THIS is what we needed with the PT, which could have done just fine without excessive amounts (or even the inclusion) of Yoda, the droids, Chewbacca, Anakin in Vader Costume, Jango and Boba Fett, Jabba, ET, a (deleted) Greedo scene, and anyone else ought not have been there.

As for what's missing on that FAQ

-Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford have both expressed interest in being in the next film. Carrie Fisher has not taken a position.

-J.J. Abrams isn't interested in being director. Neither are Steven Spielberg, Zack Snyder, or Quentin Tarantino.

-George has a completed 50 page treatment.

... Trying to find more.

I thought George was out of the picture altogether?

George is staying on as "creative consultant"

Might be another fact to add to the list, Tim. =P

Also, since it's come out now that Michael Arndt was working on treatments of the films since before the sale, is it possible that the treatments Lucas was talking about being included in the deal actually being Arndt's and not Lucas' and he was just saying he wrote them to keep Arndt a secret?

Well, George being on as creative consultant might not necessarily be a bad thing. He played a similar role in the creation of TESB after all.

OK, well I wasn't dumb enough to actually think that, but that's what most of the press has made it sound like.

But who's there to say no to him this time? Is he not still to be surrounded by yes-men?

Please don't kill me... but I figured I'd throw this out there...

Jake Lloyd has been royally screwed by his performance in Star Wars Episode 1 - Generally due to awful, age inappropriate dialog ("Yippeeee!" anyone?)

Now that he is old enough, would Jake Lloyd be a decent contender as Luke's son or protege?

Generally I assume consulting doesn't mean making final/any decisions, but rather offering your knowledge and expertise when asked.

However, this is just me being hopeful and it remains to be seen how out-of-the-picture Mr. Lucas really is.

If the IMDB is anything to go by, Jake Lloyd hasn't appeared in anything since 2005, and even that was a film that apparently sat on the shelf for a few years. Didn't he retire from acting?

.... Look the Skywalker family tree is screwed up enough by the whole midichlorian/Shmi pairing and the fact that Luke and Leia have the hots for each other. Do we really need to add Luke's son being his own Grandpa to the mix??? Luke and Leia's Grandfathers are a bunch of bacteria that had a one night stand with their Grandma!!!!! Stop it you! Just stop it! Enough!

Well... considering that their Grandfather WAS just bacteria, etc. wouldn't that mean that the genetic combinations, especially in the male line, would be be extremely limited. It's actually very likely he'd look almost exactly the same :P
