I am in the market to buy a laserdisc player and was wondering what a good choice would be. Dont want to spend more then $150 if possible.

Do you want a PAL, NTSC or dual system player?

dual system would be great, but I bet to much cash for me. NTSC

I looked at some finished eBay auctions when you first posted this, but forgot to reply. A Pioneer Elite player is probably gonna be outside your price range, but IIRC there was a CLD-D704 in very good shape with the manual and remote that sold for just over $150. If I hadn't stepped up to my DVL-919 way back when, I probably would have gotten a 704.

Also, some Pioneers are rebadged for other brands, including Mitsubishi and (I think) Marantz.

But admit it, you'll sell your car/kidney/sister to raise the dough for an X0, won't you?

How did you know that I had all three of those to sell.

I know because *I* would sell your car, kidney, and sister. And if I sold one of her kidneys separately, I might have enough to also get new speakers and repaint my car.

Picked up a Pioneer CLD-V2600 for $20. Also got the Definitive Collection and Special Edition for $40.
Me so happy!

Sounds like a very good deal, I hope everything works out for you. And you didn't have to sell any body parts or relatives!

I'm considering DVD-ifying the handful of LDs my mom has, and stealing my old CLD-D502 back from her. You know, just in case.
