Dinner for Five with Mark Hamill

Dunno if this was mentioned as a post in some other thread. If so, I couldn't find it and I'm sorry. But still and all the same for everyone else like myself who didn't know...

Dinner for Five, an IFC show hosted by Jon Favreau, just taped an upcoming episode which will feature guest hosts Mark Hamill, Kevin Smith, JJ Abrams (of Alias and Lost fame), Jason Lee, and Stan Lee.

I don't have an airdate yet. If anybody else finds one, post it here. Should be interesting to watch.

I wonder if we'll hear anything about the SW TV show since Hamill and Smith were rumored to be collaborating on it together.

Didn't they work together in "Comic Book the movie"?

And on that last "Silent Bob" film...?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Don't know about Comic Book (was Smith involved?)

The rumors about the SW TV hadn't started until after both those movies came out, so its possible they never had the chance to talk on set about it.

JJ Abrams, the man who will forever be known to me as the man who made Lex Luthor Kryptonian, made Jor-El browbeat his son back to life, and who didn't make Krypton blow up.

Someone's been going to the Lucas School of Continuity.

What- did all that happen on Smallville 90120??? I *knew* there was some reason I never watched that show... and it wasn't just lack of Teri Hatcher...

Yeah that wasn't JJ's finest work, but everything he's done since then has been real gold. Alias has been pretty damn good, and Lost has been GREAT.

He was the one that finally turned down the Supes movie a few years ago, and Brian Singer is on the project now.

Don't worry, I don't think any of Abrams' ideas survived.

Kevin Smith served as an interviewee on Comic Book: The Movie as I recall. He and Mark are pretty good friends. It's possible that this episode of Dinner for Five will be all about superhero movies and the like. Or comic books. Something along those lines.

What are the rumours about Hamill and Smith being involved in the New Star Wars TV SHOW?

War does not make one great.

I don't know specifics other than they are rumored to be collaborating on it together as the point people as designated by LFL. All rumor, of course.

so anybody got ifc? I don't but id love to see that show.

I loved comic book the movie. It really speaks to the comic persons heart in spades!

And how do you guys feel about the SW TV thing? Lucas confirmed it on ET last night.

I think he's just beating a dead horse at this point. Just do books and comics and animation and leave live action alone.

I agree. There's only so much you can do before you dilute the brand. And I think GL is running dangerously close to doing just that.
