I have 2 of the Definitive Collection Laserdisc box sets for sale. This was, in my opinion, the last excellent release of the Original Trilogy before it was bastardized into the “Special Editions”. This set includes all 3 movies, as they were shown in the theaters, with CAV video which is the least compressed laserdisc video format. They were remastered for this release and the set is THX certified. The best DVD set of the OT I have is actually a backup of this set, and until Lucasfilm does it right and releases the OT on Blu-Ray (don’t hold your breath) I won’t be buying another set.
Anyway, in addition to the movies themselves there is extensive, and I mean everything that existed at the time this was made, bonus material and various audio commentaries throughout the films. There is a also a very large book titled “George Lucas - The Creative Impulse” which has a very cool description of his movies, Skywalker Ranch, various divisions of Lucasfilm and the Archives with many photos.
I have 1 set that is opened in excellent condition for $50 and another that is mint sealed in celophane, never opened for $100. It still has the original $250 price tag on it!!!
