Pardon my ignorance but I’ve been trying to get this to play correctly on my new to me HDTV. I’m playing in full mode but it looks stretched. Not sure which version I have now but I am currently Dling the 2.7 version in opes it’s going to look better on my TV.
Any help is appreciated.

the only aspect ratios I have on my TV are Full, H-Fill, 4:3 or justified. I also have HD1 and HD2. The bars on top and bottom aren’t the issue, it’s the picture looks stretched horizontally.

Could you take a picture of your TV with the movie playing and post it here?

Also, how are you playing it? is it burned to disc, or are you playing the mkv. What device are you using for playback? it may have specific settings (are you using a usb key plugged into a smart tv, or a laptop via hdmi, or streaming media player?)

Get Harmy’s versions. Those will look much better!

Yeah, especially given that it was an avi file, it could be absolutely anything. They tend not to be used anymore. And even when they were more in vogue, this scene probably used full DVDs instead anyway. But probably something non-anamorphic and stretched by your TV. The least terrible way to watch it would probably be a “zoom” setting that doesn’t mess with the AR. Not sure what Justified does.

You have to edit your post, links like that are not allowed here and can get you banned.

If parts are down, ask on the place that you found the links posted (I believe it is a forum as well?). I suppose you could have posted the rar numbers for the DVD5 and someone could PM you if they had a better link.

Honestly, the DVD5s are probably very rarely downloaded, so it’s not surprising that the links expired with no one noticing. If you happen to have dual layer DVDs, and a compatible blu-ray player, you can burn an AVCHD disc (essentially a blu-ray on a DVD9). Those links could be up.

Edit: also, the links that you should not have posted seem to work. All the more important that you DELETE them, then.
