Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast — Page 2

I would hope it would be much better than what we saw in Batman Forever.

You know, that brings another though to my mind, the titles of the last two Batman movies before the reboot of Batman Begins.    Now one movie contains the origin story of Robin and one contains the origin story of Batgirl.   Which movie would be more appropriate to call "Batman and Robin?  One with the origin of Robin or the one with the origin of Batgirl?  I kind of think one with the origin story of Robin would be more appropriate to call "Batman and Robin" and the 4th movie would be more appropriate to call "Batman Forever"  Then again perhaps the third movie should have been called "Schumacher f___s up Batman" and the forth called "Schumacher a__ rapes Batman again and again"

Good point, although Batgirl is so superfluous and tacked on in the latter that it's hardly fair to say it's "about" Batgirl.  She prances about for half the movie until the end when suddenly, "Oh, you want to be a crimefighter?  'Kay.  Get to it!"  Truly an origin story of champions.

It's not even the real Batgirl it's more Batval.

I dunno, Anne Hathaway is really not somebody I would imagine to be a good Catwoman. Of course I never would've thought in a million years Heath Ledger would make a good Joker.

I mean, she is gorgeous, but in a friendly way. Of course at least they didn't pick Megan Fox, like everyone else seems to be doing now a days.

Megan Fox has the looks for catwoman, but she can't act her way out of a paper bag.

In the end, Anne Hathaway might be a good choice, I haven't ever seen her in a role like this before.

It might be a good idea to get somebody who isn't another Angelina or Megan Fox.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I'm familiar with who she is but I've never seen her in anything, so this will be my introduction to her as an actress.

I have seen her in exactly one role...

(j/k, I also saw Get Smart, which was better than expected)

She just comes off as so nice and bubbly, maybe a little dorky. It will definitely be a test of her acting abilities for her to pull it off. I haven't seen her do anything outside of nice and bubbly.

What I liked so much about Michelle Pfeiffer was how much of a drastic transition it was from Selina Kyle to Catwoman.

What?!?!?!?  GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!  What have you been doing that's so gosh darn important???  Huh?  Didn't we already go over this in the "Last Movie Seen (was Inception or GETOUT!)" thread?

But back on topic, I can't say the casting info has thrilled me.  I'm also waiting for the title to change.  It needs its own identity, unless it's part 2 of a three part Dark Knight trilogy and Batman Begins is just a prologue.

I assume Hardy and Hathaway will be good because I trust Nolan enough.  I'm still hoping Talia is in the movie too... just because Catwoman is so... obvious.

Tell you what.  You come out here first, and watch the baby and her sister, and then I'll be able to sit down with the wife and together we can watch it on the better tv with the actual sound system, and I'll consider it.

Watching Star Trek:  Deep Space Nine.  Hadn't you heard?  ^_^

I thought we went over this when you suggested a crossover review, but, sadly, I was too lazy to get off my ass and watch it, and for that I apologize.  I'm sure you'll prove me right that I should have seen it immediately, but, in the meantime...

LAZY!!!

I just hate the word "rise" in a title. It's totally overused. And hasn't he risen pretty well in the last two flicks>

I don't particularly dislike it, but I do admit it gives me the visual image of those codpieces from the Schumacher films...

  • T4: Rise of the Machines

I hate to somehow group Nolen's new Batman in with those poopy, poopy films.

Fink is right, rise of the machines was 3.  terminator salvation, really terminator destruction of the franchise, was 4.
