ehem . . .

ROTJ didn't disappoint me at all, but I think that most fans, especially those of the era, found it inferior to the first two films.  I love it as is, but I acknowledge it has its shortcomings.  TDKR on the other hand promises to surpass the previous two, at least if initial reviews are anything to be believed.  I hope they're right.

So you the Bale Batman Trilogy will be a better trilogy than the one that this whole forum is dedicated to preserving?

well . . . for a awhile he was in a sort of heaven with his Lois Lane and others after his earth was destroyed.   Then,  he came  back and tried to recreate his earth.   When he realized his friend Alex(who was him in the sort of heaven) was up to no good, he tried to stop him.    He stopped Alex's plan, but died in the process.   He is now in the real heaven . . . I think.

I think they brought him back as an evil zombie for one of their lastest POS events.

At the risk of sounding like a scratched record why do film makers feel the need to screw around with iconic characters (new toy sales I guess)?

When you have a guy with this shape

why on Earth stick him in this:

screwy outfit?

Since when has Superman been Man Of Textured Rubber?

Are we sure that a certain Mr. Schumacher isn't involved with this production? ;)

What? Is this from Superman comics or something? Maybe there is a reason why I'm a Bat-fan and not too interested in Kal-El. I had meant the spirit of the Fleischer Superman being present in a film.

My feelings on TDKR are: to avoid spoilers and try to control my trepidation.

The Fleischer Superman was based on the Golden Age Superman.    The Golden Age Superman became the Superman of Earth 2, in the DC universe continuity.

There's a pretty luxurious cinema about 45 minutes from her, I've never been but I hear good things. the plan is to go there with friends on the weekend for TDKR.

I guess a 3 hour movie demands comfortable seating - something that Village / Roadshow still haven't got the hang of..

currently watching a Batmaraton of BB / TDK in preparation.

^Maybe I should be offended, but I'm smiling.

So I've just downloaded The Dark Knight: The Rise and Fall of Harvey Two Face fanedit, one that aims to focus more on Harvey and Bruce.  I'm excited to watch this because that's my TDK is inferior to BB in my opinion.  I also am trying to download TDK Remixed by Jorge, a version which presents the film in an unconventional chronology, utilizing the same techniques that Nolan's Memento did (two timelines, one backwards, one forwards, one colarless, one in colar, and they meet in the middle of the story).  I'm having trouble getting my hands on this, as every available source seems to be a dead end.  Perhaps I will use one of these as my default version.

I did download BB: The Dark Cut a while ago.  It makes a few changes to Batman Begins, such as making the Batmobile automatically take out the train rail (using Batman Begins video game dialogue to make it happen) and a sniper shooting Joe Chill instead of a woman announcing to everyone that Falcone ordered the hit.  Most other changes are subtle, but the most significant change is the deepening of Rachel's voice so she sounds more mature.  It was pulled off surprisingly well, and I find it a nice alternative, though not necessarily preferred--rather it's about equal to the original for me.

Okay guys. I've numerously declared my love for Batman the Animated Series and the numerous worlds it has inspired. So it may not come as a surprise to all of you that I really, really dig this. The Hub, master of all things Bat from Adam West to Kevin Conroy, actually hired the cast of the animated series to record their own version of the Dark Knight Rises trailer. The footage itself is poorly put together by the Hub (changing aspect ratios and horrible interlacing... what?) but I'd be lying if this didn't get me even more pumped.

The interlacing comes from some aspects of the DVD transfers. They sometimes break into combing effects in order to faithfully preserve the animation IIRC.  That edit does remind me of how much I disliked the art changes made for TNBA. (Except Babs of course ;)

But that is awesome in every sense of the word. Uhh...Kevin Conroy doing the lines from the trailer...speechless. And hearing Alfred to boot!

I'm seeing the IMAX version as soon as possible (probably Saturday) since the theater nearest to me receives one of the IMAX film prints. Is anybody else going the IMAX route or seeing one of the trilogy screenings?

I'm doing a midnight screening at the Westwood Village theater in Los Angeles. That screen has to be as big (if not bigger) than any imax screen I've ever seen. It never lets me down.

I've seen some IMAXes that are bigger than that.     Although that place does look like a very nice movie theater.
