Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast — Page 13

Two Face isn't Harvey Dent anymore.

Unlike Batman he can't even pretend to be the person he was when he was born.

So giving the guy a few minutes in the fag end of a Joker flick is short changing him and not utilizing his potential.

Two Face is every bit as interesting a character as Batman or the Joker but he always gets the sticky end when it comes to movies and television.

At least you do get a few minutes of Two Face in TDK, in Batman Forever there is some twit doing a Jack Torrance impersonation in crappy makeup.

This may be a worthwhile effort for the Batman fans/faneditors here:

So the contest is to see if you can make a Dark Knight Rises/Chrysler TV spot.  Christopher Nolan picks the winner.  If I had talent, I'd try it.

I think they could use a "ridiculous" treatment ;)

I've largely stopped looking into TDKR news and stopped watching the TV spots because I'm afraid too much will be revealed and it will detract from my actual movie experience.  But a while back there was some speculation, based on some of the released footage and Nolan's statement that this film will wrap up the series, that Bruce Wayne will die, though "Batman" lives in someone else (somewhat like the Knightfall story arc, though with an actual death).  I don't want to believe that, and I think it would be unwise, but I thought, "What if....?"  And then I stopped reading this garbage that could spoil it for me.

But today I gave in, and found some heartwarming news.  I read this article...

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1687077/dark-knight-rises-fourth-film.jhtml

...indicating that while Nolan is done with the franchise, Bale is willing to participate in a fourth film if WB decided to take it that far (please don't).  It's really not even worth the read, but simply that fact that Bale would be willing to don the cowl once again means he'd have to survive this film.  So I personally don't think Bruce will die.  That is all.

Oh goody. So Nolan might be done but Bale would continue.

Oh, I certainly hope not.  I'd like things to wrap up nice and tight with this film.  I just want Bruce to live.

The next Batman movie should be written by Damon Lindelof and directed by M Night Shyamalan. My choice to play Batman is Shia Lebeouf.

^Now THAT would be a Nolan/Bale Batman movie I'd like to watch.

New TV trailer with a few new bits. There's a shot with Bruce on a cane and asking Fox for help. Why do I get the feeling that some of the elements of Knightfall are just going to be tossed in as a cheap way to move the story along??

I'm refusing to watching any new TV spots to preserve more new footage for me.  But I'm curious as to how Knightfall elements would be "cheaply" tossed in?  Each of the movies has borrowed heavily from some comic storyline, such as Year One and The Long Halloween.  When only dealing with three films and Bane as the primary villain of the third movie, I don't see how the film could avoid Knightfall.

Yeah, I know...I've just always thought the story arc had some great material and would make for a great adaptation, and hate the fact that some would already get used out of context.

The only aspect of Knightfall I'd like to see in a future Batman movie is Abattoir, but that likely won't happen due to the fact that such a movie will turn out more like Black Christmas than a big budget, CG-laden "epic" money-sponge, thus depriving Hollywood the millions of dollars it craves but doesn't deserve.
