So pleased youre doing this! Been dying to watch this again for years - a truly worthwhile project! Not sure how i can help exactly but i'll be telling everyone i know about this to get as much interest going in it as i can - this was such a beautiful film and its great to know you'll be getting it back out there for others to enjoy!

I just read through all 3 pages of this thread. A tremendous effort and an amazingly wide base of support for this project- it's wonderful to know that people all over the world appreciated this movie.
I originally found the Monkey King story through a picture book which I now realize consisted of stills from the film. And after reading about all the other sub-par prints and versions already out there, I'll wait until the restored version comes out to see this thing for the first time. Anything less wouldn't do justice to my fond memories of the picture book. Thanks again for all of your hard work on this!

Just got it this morning from a buddy of mine, and I'm really impressed with the quality.
Oh my gosh! A friend of mine with a fast connection is getting this for me right now! He's never seen this film before, but he's willing to give it shot after I told him how much I loved this when I was a child. After we watch it, I'll be back with what we thought.

Well I learn Mandarin now and I watch this movie with original soundtrack, but i have no Chinese subtitles. I couldn't find them on the net.

Being British I was first introduced to "Journey To The West" via the Japanese television series "Saiyuki" aka (when hilariously dubbed by the BBC) "Monkey".
Then I read the book.
So this would be a dream come true to watch.
I helped to put on a puppet show based on Sun Wukong's Hindi counterpart Hanuman's starring epic "Ramayana" (there's a book in that story I could tell you).
I will try and track down and buy a copy first but I have yet to see a torrent up.
Hopefully the two will converge.
