DVD audio extraction

After fruitlessly looking around the web for certain sound samples (and finding none), I've decided to simply extract the samples I wanted. Is there a program that allows one to extract audio from a DVD and encode it as a WAV or MP3?

There's a quite neat little program called DVD Audio Extractor which allows you to extract audio by chapter, and export it to any audio format that you have a codec installed on your computer for. It also allows you the option of normalizing the audio out to a certain dB level.

Is it limited to a certain chapter, or can you mark an A-B setpoint for the sample? I only need a few seconds of audio for this project.

The most you can break it down is by chapter, but if you just snagged the chapter that it's in and then threw the output in some simple audio editing software, you can just take the part you need.

Alternatively, set your sound card to record the output from the computer and just play the segment back on the DVD in your computer while recording in some audio editing software.

What are you working on? Or are you not yet at liberty to say?
