DVD Labeling/Printing for Preservations a FanEdits

Since visiting this site for over 5 years now, I have finally decided to make my own fan edit series for the PT. I have finished my first edit and am working on the dvd cover and disc label. through my research, i have found that applying a paper label to a dvd, or even a cd for that matter, is bad for the disc and can ultimately cause it to become unreadable. so, i have decided to use printable dvd’s to apply my disc art to. however, i do not own a disc printer. without going out and buying a disc printer, for something my wife calls “a waste of time” i now have 2 options:

  1. i could take it to a company that that will apply the artwork to my pre/post burnt edit with little to no questions asked (i say this because i am afraid that they won’t do it because they may think that i am trying to do something illegal)
  2. i ask one of you friendly fellow fan edit and preservationists, to print my artwork for me.

if anyone has any suggestions, or would be willing to help me out please let me know. thanx

Last few years, I’ve had a Canon MG5350 with a built in disc printer and the quality overall from what I’ve seen is pretty top notch. I’ve compared it with a legit disc scanned (at 600dpi) and printed onto a printable and there is a slight detail loss, but nothing too major. Was better than I was expecting when I first got it.

So you shouldn’t have to worry about going for something like a multifunction printer as far as quality goes. Not sure what the price range is nowadays though.

Hey, I recently bought a printer, discs, blurays case, photo paper, etc. JUST to make 1 or 2 sets. So, I have all these extras. If you throw me a few bucks to cover the costs of the supplies and shipping, I can send you some of the boxes. I made. I used the artwork harmy posted.

I used the company DupeShop to thermal print my artwork to discs. Came out perfect and reasonably priced.

did they just print the artwork or did they burn the files too?

I had them just do the artwork onto discs. They will put the files onto discs no charge however the files are HUGE as you know so I had no way of uploading 100s of GB to them. The finished product was worth the money. My friends I made discs for rave how professional and real they look.
