This is a 67-minute version of Locked from David Yarovesky (2025).
I thought the movie was excellent and well-acted.
However, some unbelievable elements stood out, particularly regarding Eddie Barrish’s daughter.
In the original film, Barrish (played by Bill Skarsgård) has a family and faces financial struggles, which lead him to steal stuff from expensive cars.
If you’re familiar with the original, you might agree that a trip to the hospital would have been more believable as a resolution than what they presented at the end.
Therefore, I decided to remove the melodramatic elements, eliminating the daughter subplot.
In my edit, Barrish is simply a criminal who steals from cars to meet his daily needs.
He encounters a luxury SUV, owned by William, played by Anthony Hopkins.
What remains in this edit is a gritty power struggle between Hopkins and Skarsgård.
The film was originally shot in a 2.55:1 widescreen format, which I enjoy, but I found it a bit excessive.
I reduced the aspect ratio to 2.40:1 and converted it to 4K.
The audio is in DTS-HD sound.
