Costuming

This is my costume as of today. Check it out...

May 05 2005

It's 90 degrees (32 C) out today and that robe is all wool...I was a very sweaty dark jedi.

Anyone else into costuming?

"Who's your tailor? I love that outfit!" (Name the obscure SW ref...)

I have costumed at conventions in the past, but I don't really have anything Star Wars related. For some reason, I really wanted Stormtrooper armor when I was a kid.

Where were you in '77?

Silverwook, I believe that's a reference to the Star Wars Muppet show episode.

...and Warbler, I'm a geek anyways and I don't care who knows it.

I'm 6'6"...a bit too tall for a stormtrooper. I may be making an Imperial officer uniform next though.

Not Star Wars costumes, no. But I am into Indiana Jones costumes (although the term "gear" is more accurate).

Slowly, piece by piece, but it is happening.

So far I've acquired the Fedora (a cheap Stetson until I save up for an Adventurebilt fedora), the MkVII satchel/leather strap(repro), and the bullwhip(from Adam Winrich).

I need to place some orders within the next few days for the gunbelt/whip holder/holster, then I'll be that much closer.

BTW, are those Macrobinoculars that Submarine game?

Yes they are, Radica Sub Assault. Good eyes.

Indiana sounds like a very cool costume btw.

You should get yourself an official Indiana Jones fedora. I've seen one in a catalog over the past few months. My dad ordered one back in the mid-80s through the Lucasfilm/Star Wars Fan Club and he wore it for years. I remember the catalog specifically because its the best hat he's ever had, and he wants another.

I don't go in for costumes, except on Halloween. Next Wednesday, the most I'll do is a 'Han Shot First' T-shirt and a extra long belt with a custom lightsaber stuck in it.

Thats the one I have right now.

Its good as a starter, but there are so many better ones out there that actually look like the Indy Fedora and are so much better quality.

This is the one I'm saving up for BTW: http://www.adventurebilthats.com/.(you can get a discount price if you know the way, like I do).
