Yeah I saw it too, amazing. Can’t wait to see the final product next year.
I just this on the Interwebs today. It’s pretty short, but has some cool VFX shots that make the lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan and Vader in A New Hope pretty spectacular.

Might be worth including these shots in a fan edit or for ANH: Revisited.

I wonder if they are realistic enough to merge into the original Star Wars. That clip looked pretty amazing.
that looks UNREAL
Prequel Fan-Edit thread: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Yet-another-series-of-prequel-edits/id/17329
I saw that earlier and thought about posting it, but figured it’d be a bit to radical for this place.
I agree, looks great. The CGI is really convincing.
It’s cool, but the CG environment really gives it away. I don’t think you could integrate it into the film very well.
(I also don’t agree with their approach to the duel but that aspect is well done)
A lot of it, especially early in the (short) video, looks like a video game. The dueling clips are inspiring, however you watch the fight then and ignore the environment that it is happening in, the ceiling in the hallway really looks off in the entire clip.
I can agree that the environment is off-putting; but in my case, I was so focused on the fighting that I didn’t notice it for a while.
Personally the environment really stood out to me, and even the framing of Vader looks odd near the beginning. Maybe the lighting is too bright as well. Other than that, I’m pretty much sold on this duel.
The Rise of Failures
Maybe it’s not complete? Maybe just some few shots could be implemented seamlessly.
Found a reddit thread where the creator answers a few questions.
Two bits of relevant information in there; the scene is not finished, and the intention will be that the scene can be dropped right into the movie. I assume that means it’ll be a sort of fanedit resource.
Blend seamlessly into the movie huh? That would actually be awesome, though I think it’s still pretty far from it based on the teaser.
Edit: if we get to the point where we can create CG scenes at our homes that look as real as actual film footage, I’m all in for a completely reimagined prequel trilogy.
WOW what the hell, thats awesome, Has Ady seen this??? its bloody amazing
This is very awesome. I hope this team continues along so we have a “modern” VFX version to compare just for fun.
