Between the corrected picture (and this is correct), the audio options and the artwork, this looks… dare I say… perfect?

Totally agree.

Don't change a thing.  You have it calibrated perfectly.

On my calibrated display the DVD shot doesn't actually look more pink to me (when viewing the face and clothing).  The second image actually seems more pink in that regard, but the background elements are definitely cooler.  Perhaps it is more noticeable since the face is what the viewer will be focused on the most when watching the scene.

The contrast in the second image seems a bit low, but maybe that is just because it is sitting right next to the first which has higher brightness and contrast.

We would never be able to get a perfect match with the DVD since it's sourced from a different print, and what we did was an automatic process. Actually we don't want a perfect match because of the oversaturation, crushed whites and shadow detail of the DVD.

What I mentioned is also the reason why our version won't look as bright as the DVD. The DVD has contrast pushed beyond what it would've looked like on film, which we correct in our version.

Interesting.  I'm sure the final product will look amazing.  It's always hard to tell (for me at least) when looking at all the comparisons right next to each other what the optimal one is.

Unfortunately, my only real experience is seeing the film on TV, VHS and DVD so I really don't have any good frame of reference.  It will be nice to have a proper reconstruction.

Having seen this in theaters with my father when it first came out, I am very excited to have this in hand and sharing the experience with him all over again.

@jimjimmyjones85: I'm glad to hear that!

Anyway guys, I just wanted to post a statement regarding blu-ray disc donations: Since the cases, professionally printed covers as well as shipping is all paid by dark_jedi, smaller donations like one disc or two can unfortunately not be accepted since they won't nearly cover the expenses for all that.

I suggest that when some people here receive their discs, they could help us out by helping those who couldn't get any discs the first time. And if we won't upload it on myspleen ourselves, feel free to do that as well. I'll gladly supply you with the full res cover file to accompany the torrent, or for your own printing.

Hi, can't you just put the final cover art onto the disc, so it would be in a maybe myspleen torrent, and for pif'fing guys.

@MrBrown: No idea if it could be put on the disc. I think DJ has already started burning discs so I guess it's too late anyway. But no worries! I'll put a link here in the thread when the time comes. And somebody made an alternate cover for DJ so maybe we can post both. But I don't know if the other cover is ready yet.

ALL covers get released with the projects, anyone who knows my releases know s this very well, when I upload these when the time comes all files will be intact, no one will miss out on anything.

Not sure, this is going to be huge to upload and I hate the hit and runners so I may do newsgroups, just not sure yet.

H&R's do not really bother me much on DVD sized uploads because of my speed, but when the file is this big everyone needs help until it is well seeded.

Yeah i know what ya mean i hate that to. I for one keep it seeding over there.

Well i hope ya do but i understand if you don't

I have never done newsgroups never really knew what they were till awhile ago. I'm more for torrents my self.

Just playin with ya dude, and you still did not type it correct though, you forgot the -R, so BD-R and BD-RE are correct, but not BDR, but I knew what you were saying lol, just having some fun.

I assume that the audio takes up a big % of the size and that is why you chose the dual layer format rather than single layer to maintain full quality. If anyone in the uk gets a hold of this let me know, although i still hope for a torrent :)

I'd also like to see this in the UK, hopefully it'll get to myspleen. I remember getting stung by a bee on the sole of my foot when watching this on TV as a kid one hot summer evening. Great film and it looks like a great preservation, well done guys!
