Anyone pick up the Superman/Batman annual? Classic book. Very light-hearted. Reminds me very much of the Giffen/DeMatties run on JLI/JLA.

If Sage likes it, I might give it a go. It's got Slade in it after all. I was just sort of wary of yet another retelling.

It's all done for laughs, and it works well. I wouldn't consider it a ret-con or anything. There's a couple of scenes that made me laugh out loud.

Yes, Slade is so cool. I was introduced to him via the Teen Titans, Go! tv series and he's now one of my favs. I'm able to mimick Ron Perlman's voice fairly well and it used to drive my kids nuts. They'd say something like "What's for supper?" and I'd say "Patience, kids. Patience. You'll find out our plans soon enough".

Yes. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Not sure if you've seen the latest issue of Amazing Spidey, but



**SPOILER**


The issue ends with Spidey deciding to leave Avenger's Tower with May and M.J. at which point Stark attacks him and says "I thought you said you knew which side you were on". Why would he need to do this? Peter is already registered and "out" as a hero. Seems a little strange.

Is that not why Spiderman's face was always in the middle in the promotional art? That he's sort of unsure what he wants to do.

Yes, he is quite conflicted, for sure. I guess I'm just being nit-picky. Stark wouldn't have any legal grounds for attacking him.

It's a tough business. Part of the problem is that the younger crowds are not around like they used to be, given the internet and all. Plus the prices are way too high and the proliferation of electronic formats is going to hurt. DVD editions are already hurting the back issue market.

In Civil War: Frontline #7, where he makes a deal with a shadowy figure from the pro-registration side who gives him a serum to override the control nanomachines implanted by SHIELD. The figure is indicated to be highly trusted by the superhero community, though whether he is himself a superhero is unspecified.

Picked up the House of M TPB today. Need to get caught up on it. Been holding off reading Astonishing X-Men for a while now because I missed that series.

I think I should just buy either Marvel or DC comics because doing them both just costs me a lot of money I don't have. I'm a bigger fan with Marvel and Civil War is happening so i'll have to go with them.

It is expensive as hell. Plus it takes time to organize your collection, etc. I've got my kids making bags and boards for me. Now I've got to categorize and alphabetize. It never ends. I figure after 52 I'll start to trim my lists significantly.
