DVD Profiler is also like this where you can add dvds to you collection (or wish list) by title or even the upc code. It keeps track of all the information on the dvd (disc art, features, aspect ratio etc) and lets you insert where and for how much you got it as well as other personalized information.

you can see my dvd profiler page here and there is a user interface that you install on you're desktop to update the information. That list is from when you upload you're collection.

though, this 40 years of spiderman disc sounds interesting. do you have information on where to get it?

DOH!! Now I feel like an idiot.

OK...

The Spidey cd/dvd is available from Amazon, or CompUSA...almost anywhere they have a substantial collection of software for sale. Think it's like $30. I'm probably just going to get the Essentials collection from Marvel. Not in color, but I still have to have the book in my hands.

*Edit*...For now I'll be sticking with my database as opposed to an on-line list. I use a RAD tool from Alpha Software that is very powerful. I can customize alerts, build custom browses, all kinds of stuff. It's a killer RAD tool, that also allows you to create web dbs. Check it out.

Hey Chalts, you see Marv Wolfman is contributing some type of special to Infinite Crisis? He's got an interview over at Newsarama .

Not heard about that one. Though it doesn't really surprise me with Perez drawing a bunch of the covers and all.

I'm not a fan of Batman Beyond, to put it lightly, but it was funny.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Now I know that Brandon Routh should be playing Green Lantern instead of Superman.

Anyone pick up The Book of Lost Souls by Straczynski? Darn good so far. Ongoing series for Marvel's ICON imprint. Kind of reminds me of Sandman.

Wow. He's like Hal Jordan incarnate! Awesomeness.

Yeah, its too bad he's Superman. Routh just doesn't look the part, though I can't really think of anyone who does.

I don't know, I think I liked him better as Aqua Man.

Jim Caviezel.

Personally I think Brandon Routh looks like a Kyle Rayner type of Green Lantern, or possibly Nightwing. I know there's actually a manipulation out there of Routh as Batman but I can't find it. I'm still waiting to see if anyone will do a manip of him as Captain Marvel. http://www.marvelfamily.com/images/WhosWho/CaptainMarvel/Panels/cap_supes.jpg

Jim Caviezel.

Actually, that might could work. Though I wonder if playing Jesus and Superman in the same decade would go to a guy's head.

I'd rather have it all go to Jim's head than have to watch a male underwear model play Superman.

can anybody tell me what the deal is with the city of crime story and the war games story? I just started reading with part 11 which came out today. Which titles do these stories span? i.e. Detective Comics, or Batman or both?

All I know is that War Games has somethign to do with Spoiler trying to prove herself to Batman, and ending up making things worse.

I was looking into that 40 Years of Amazing SpiderMan CD (doesnt look like they have a dvd version, only 11 cds ) anyway, I also saw a 44 Years of Fantastic 4 (Amazon says cd but it seems to actually be dvd) and coming soon (this month some time) is 40 Years of X-Men. I think im gonna pick these up, but was wondering if there are any other ones people know of. They look to be done by Topis Entertainment, except the Fantastic 4 one which is listed as being done by marvel.

anyway, if people know more about these, and if there are any others information would be greatly appreciated. Id love to find ones for Captain America, Wolverine, Hulk, Batman, Superman (dont know if DC has these)

thanks,

Hey DS...

Thanks for the info. Actually, I was wondering when they'd come out with more, as the Spidey one seemed to be quite successful.

As I've said on this in the past, I'm split on this issue. I think it's a great, cheap alternative to buying 1 volume of Essential whatever (in b&w) for $23 w/tax, but I do think it loses something in not having the book actually in my hand. That being said, it's also a tremendous space-saving way to go.

If Marvel's doing it with great success, I would think DC will have no choice, although I've not heard anything specific about any other titles.

So, who's a Watchmen fan here? I actually haven't read the Watchmen, but I keep meaning to.

Has anyone read the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen books? I know the movie got bashed really bad.

I haven't read Watchmen, but of course I've heard the praise. It's on my wish list, although I'm not going for the $75 "Absolute" edition that just came out (or is coming out shortly).

League is also on my list. Can't go by the movie. It was panned almost universally by the comics fans as being nowhere near like the comic was, and I believe Moore disassociated himself with it completely because it was so bad.

The movie changed quite a bit from the comic, but it wasn't terrible.

OK...we're in for the second issue of Infinite Crisis tomorrow. Picked up the original Crisis on Infinite Earths TPB last week. Want to get it finished before I read #2, if possible.

Anyone pick up anything new lately?

I just finished part one of "The New Frontier"...

And it made me very angry at the end, all the build up to the main villain, and you have to buy volume 2 before they tell you who/what he/she/it is! ARGH!
