Plus gain a ton of weight and have some latina woman posing as a Native American decline the Academy Award as a form of societal protest.

So I think that if he gets another oscar, he'll send 20 jumping shaolin monks to get the award for him as a protest against whatever is in the news that day.

I dunno Solo vs Jones, I have a good feeling about FF.

Fantastic Four has a solid cast; let's just hope the script doesn't suck.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

The biggest problem with the casting is that Jessica Alba plays a woman who turns invisible.

I've been following Ioan Gruffud since he played in the Horatio Hornblower series, and(overlooking King Arthur which really wasn't his fault) he is a pretty promising actor.

Acting wasn't really a problem in King Arthur... It was just boring.

Leave that for the things we hate thread.

I cannot respect any film that has Jessica Alba in its cast. I cannot and will not accept her as the Invisible Woman.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

There are very few actors/actresses I will automatically rule out simply on the basis of who they are. Since I've barely seen any of Alba's acting gigs, I won't rule her out yet. I don't have enough basis to do so. I'll give her a chance. Besides, the film has Julian McMahon in it and he's one kick ass actor.

I concur. Julian MacMahon has become one of my favorite actors since he rocked in both Charmed and Nip and Tuck.

However, I agree about Jessica Alba. She's not who I thought of when I think of Invisible Woman. I mean, I figured she'd be...older. Mid-thirties, at least. Sort of maternal figure. Not some twenty-something girl.

I agree that she is far from the first person I would think of for the role. But I'll give it a shot. I actually kinda think Chalize Theron would have been ideal for the role.

Yeah, I can picture that...much better than who's in there now. It does worry me a little, though. Haven't seen the preview, so I can't say for sure.

Are there pics of Julian in his Dr. Doom outfit? I've pretty much seen pics of all the good guys. Thing doesn't look right, though. Guess seeing it in motion might change my mind.

I havent seen any pictures of Doom, i know you get glimpses of him in the trailer.

I agree with maddog00 on seeing Invisible Woman as more of a motherly type figure. I could definitaly see Charlize Theron in the role.
correct me if im wrong, my knowledge of the fantastic four is based on the cartoon (that chaltab mentioned and some people never heard of) and the original movie, but Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman are in that 30's age range (and married) The Thing is the same age as he's like Mr. Fantastics best friend. And (from the movie) Human Torch is Invisible Woman's younger brother (so he's about 20's and has a more reckless attitude).

I think the problem with The Thing is that he's hard to do as a live action character and get the look right with still having the moveability in the costume required. I mean, they could have gone CG but wouldnt you prefer a live actor with makeup than a CGI inserted Thing?

Doom looks like Doom. He's behind a mask so you can't really see McMahon. Here's a pic.

speaking as a comic fan, I can definetely tell you that it seems like Hollywood should qit while it's ahead as far as comic movies are concerned. They already did all the good ones. And I tell you, DareDevil was a good one. The comic is in a league of it's own at this point and those idiots in Hollywood dragged DD's name through the mud. Really Shameful! As far as FF us concerned, it doesn't have as much strength as it used to as a book. And you really can't do that one without putting the family element into it becausee that's what's in the book. And yes, I think Alba was too young for the part. All the cast members appear to be too young for the part except Johnny Storm and The thing. Sue and Reed Should be around the same age as the actor who was cast for Thing. And I never could get into the whole Dr. doom thing. All you gotta do is knock on his armor and he gets an ear ache!

Never saw Power Rangers. Dunno what he looks like. But here is a sculpture of Doom that Marvel released. Looks pretty close, don't you think...

Marvels version proves this: Just because it looks alright in animation doesn't been it will look allright on a real person...

Just think if X2's wolverine had had the comic book outfit!

I don't think it looks all bad. At least they tried to stay faithful. Dunno if it will work as well once we see it in motion. But who knows?
