I know there was a thread a while back about this, but I didn't want to reconfigure my settings to go back and find old threads. So here goes. And don't go bringing the old thread back to life. Really. What's the point?

Clone Wars Announcement

And for those who don't want to link...

The Emmy Award-winning and critically acclaimed Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series is coming to DVD on March 22, 2005, and here's a first look at the box art of this action-packed release that blends the epic scope of Star Wars with a unique animated style.

Obi-Wan Kenobi fights a messy battle with an alien bounty hunter; Anakin Skywalker engages in an epic lightsaber duel in the decrepit ruins of Yavin 4; Mace Windu single-handedly takes on an entire droid army -- these are some of the unshakable images of micro-series, enjoyed by viewers of the Cartoon Network as well as members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club.

All 19 three-minute chapters and the five-minute long Chapter 20 of the first round of Star Wars: Clone Wars are gathered together in this release. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky with Art Direction by Paul Rudish, the Clone Wars series are a fresh, stylized take on Star Wars that remains true to the spirit of the saga. They chronicle some of the epic battles that occur between Episodes II and III as the Clone Wars rage across the galaxy.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 debuts on DVD on March 22, 2005. Cartoon Network will host the premiere of the all-new Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 on March 21, one day before the DVD's release. Keep checking starwars.com for the latest developments.

And here's the cover art. I like how Anakin's character is situated on both sides of the dividing line...

"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia'."

I would sure as hell hope so. It only makes sense for them to run the same way you would a TV on DVD collection... either individual episodes or as a full length run through. My only concern is that the full length run through will still be cut up by credits. I hope their "run through" cuts that out. PLEASE LFL, DO AT LEAST ONE THING LOGICALLY.

I'm pretty sure they'll edit it in a way the credits are only shown in the end. There is a bootleg version being sold around here, and it is edited in such way.

That's a DVD I might buy, I enjoyed the Clone Wars cartoon.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Yeah, I have that bootleg version, but I'll still be getting this.
"I don't mind if you don't like my manners. I don't like them myself. They're pretty bad. I grieve over them during the long winter evenings."

And here I went about editing all that crap out myself and not shelling out for a bootleg.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

It was up on MySpleen, I didn't pay anything for it

I have that too, but UNFORTUNALLY it was dubbed in spanish. I can undertsnad 80% of spanish, but it's horribly dubbed and it kinda sucks having the characters talk about "¡el peligroso lado obscuro de la fuerza!".

I've never seen an episode of Clone Wars, and I'm not sure if I want to.

I mean, the whole concept of the series kind of takes what we were expecting out of the prequels and throws it in our face. What was the one of THE things were looking forward to seeing in this new trilogy? The mysterious Clone Wars of course. But wait, what's this? In-between movies? We get a cartoon show instead? With Sith Witches? What is this, The Matrix?

I haven't seen these cartoons yet. What this shit about Sith Witches? Maybe I should just skip it.......

They showed all episodes in one go, all cut together a while back on a cartoon channel here in the UK.
I doubt I'll be buying the DVD. After watching them twice, I got really bored!

No, it's Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack. He fulfills the promise that GL has repeatedly reneged on.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

And, in my opinion, has done it so far better than LFL did with the prequels. The Clone Wars series is so much fun to watch and it holds your interest.

I'm sure one of my friends will be getting them so I'll check them out then. If I like them enough I'll probably get them myself when they come out all together.
