Changes you want (or don't want) to the 2007 archival editions

Didn't he say he planned to replace the voices of all the OT stormtroopers with Temuerra Morrison's voice, but forgot to in the 2004 DVD's? I hope he fixes them.

Myself, other than that, I would like to see a short shot at the end of ANH where Vader's TIE lands on Coruscant at the same place Dooku's did in AOTC. And of course the lightsabers, esp in ANH, need SERIOUS work.

(And no, I won't say my other wish)

Jesus man!!

If he changed all the voices in the OT to that of the clones from the PT, how will he explain Han and Luke disguised as troops when they speak.

Bit of a giveaway me thinks!!!

They don't seem to notice the difference in voice in the current version. Han and Luke would simply use their regular voice, as they always do in the movie when in the stormtrooper outfits. Temuerra Morrison would sound much better as the voice of the stormtroopers, and make thing s more consistant, even though Battlefront II has tried to explain this.

That's a shit idea. In ANH you even hear Stormtroopers discussing the new T-16 skyhopper or something like that - they are recruits, not all clones. That is much more realistic. We don't need anymore prequel tie-ins.

EDIT:

Actually, fuck it. I've already said that I'm never watching the prequels or special editions ever again, so let him do what the hell he wants. I reallly can't believe they took Star Wars and fucked it up like this. I mean when you really stop and think, it's just insane. And a lost cause.

War does not make one great.

Sounds like a terrible idea- how is Han speaking to the Imperial Officer explained and the surely differing heights if their clones

as for Vader and Emperor in Coruscant what would they talk about, surely any talk of Luke would not make sense considering Lucas has changed the ESB Vader Emperor dialouge.

That's because all the troops sound different.

Well, the Empire did start taking non-clones into its ranks. The West End Games RPG had "ads" for taking on Empire recruits. (Abbreviated Ad)

Although, I guess that's EU...

How about Jar Jar Binks being deleted?
George Lucas was seduced by the dark side. The OOT ceased to exist in his mind and became the Special Editions...." "They're more maching now than movies. Twisted and evil."

I think that the official line from Lucasfilm is that not all Stormtroopers in the original Trilogy are clones. They are a mix of recruits and clones. Plus, by the time of the original trilogy, Jango is dead, so no more genetic template. So in addition, the clones are taken from many different sources, not just Jango Fett. So it wouldn't make sense that Temura Morrison would be the voice of all stormtroopers. Please leave them alone. The major changes I would like to see would be things like fix the Luke's lightsaber coloring on the Falcon , the reversed sound channels, some of the flaky sounding audio, etc. Those "creative decisions" that were made for the 2004 DVDs. I won't even bother to ask for the o-ot because I know that isn't going to happen, so there is no use.

The answer is simple and the web site states it- www.originaltrilogy.com

The only box set, archival set, saga set, 30th anniversary set I will ever buy is the O-OT.

If it is put with the prequels in a box set, I will buy it.

It it is put with the SE OT as a seamless branching option, I'll buy it.

If it is put out by itself, I will be happier than the previous 2, and buy it.

Until Lucas chooses to put the O-OT out, he will never get a dime from me again.

I know these are famous last words, but what can appeal to anyone who grew up with the OT to warrant us to buy another box set? Deleted Scenes? Documentary? New Trailers? I have seen all this stuff for the past 28 years, just give me the damn movies, and let us move on in life so we don't ever have to talk about the 30th, 35th, 40th anniversary set. It has finally gotten old.

I don't want any more changes. I'm with CO on this one. I will buy whatever form I can in order to get the original- original trilogy on DVD. If that means I fork over $100 for a 6 box set to where I have the option of watching the original theatrical releases, then so be it. I'll just sell back the other 3 movies for a couple of bucks and keep IV, V, and VI.

George Lucas can turn Luke Skywalker into a pink bunny for all I care, as long as I am given the option to watch the ones I grew up with. Until then, f*ck you GL.

That's the way to go, I'm sure Lucas will release the OOT now, just for you!!

Amen!

And changing the stormtroopers' voices? Yeah, it's just stupid. It's been an entire generation since the Clone Wars, anyway! I'd be surprised if any of those clones were still in service by that time! At least as ground troops, anyway... We've seen in Revenge of the Sith that even the clones can get promoted through the ranks of the military, so if any are still active, they'd probably have more tactical positions rather than doing the footwork. They'd need younger men for that.

If an anniversary boxset does come out in 2007 GL should call them directors cuts as he should have been doing since 1997. I can't really see him changing much for the forseeable future, perhaps CG yoda in TPM would be a decent change.

Wait for another 20 years until 2027 and if GL hasn't shuffled off his mortal coil Ewan and Hayden would be about the right age for.... No I don't even want to go there.

Tell ya what I'd like. I'd like ILM to stop blowing smoke up my ass, digitally remove all the lightsabers and once and for all correct the inconsistencies from one shot to the next. Don't tell me they are fixed and then they still look like crap. Fix them.

That's about it;.

Unless of course he wants to remove the Ewoks. Then I'll just get out of the way.

You can't forget, though, that Vader is close with Boba, and has the option of cloning him to keep the clones like Jango.

How about a practical change, like putting a few Stormtroopers or Imperial Spies at Jabba's Palace, since Vader seems to have forgotten how successful the last time he used Solo as bait was.

I jest.

I'd hardly call them close. They've worked together a few times, that's it. And he's about the only one who can mouth off to Vader without getting choked into submission. Boba Fett doesn't really have any affiliation, and I'm sure he'd charge the Empire a pretty penny to let himself be cloned. And since the Empire already has a large standing army, there's really no need for them to go to the trouble of cloning anymore.

You never know. I'm sure the Empire would have more than enough credits to pay Boba.
