Once again, don't worry, it's NOT real. I've seen in another message board a picture of the original scene, along with this new pic, you can clearly see that the body is Sebastian Shaw's. It's NOT real, don't worry. If GL is going to take Shaw out of the movie, he'll do it on the Ultimate Trilogy versions.

Ric, the idea of GL posting Hayden's head on Shaw's body has been floating around for some time. And it has been stated it would just be his head that was digitally inserted, not an entire body. Bits is generally pretty reliable. Other message boards are not. Bits doesn't post fanboy rumors or creations. They tend to check things out pretty thoroughly. Not that they haven't made mistakes, but they are very few and very far between.

The bits never posts fanbody rumors. Rumor Mill is based on unconfirmed reports witin the industry. Sometimes the industry changes there minds on release dates but they are accurate the majority of the time. Still if they say this picture is real its real. Which is unfortunite because I really really hate this change. I recently signed the petition hearing about it.

i was sure that i was going to buy the SE DVDs in september (the lure of the DVD format and nice packaging...) but if that is true then i won't get them. it's really getting ridiculous, if he goes on like that, changing stuff everytime SW gets rerealsedn in 20 there will be left only 10 percent of the original footage!
still, hope digital bits are wrong on this one.

but on the other side, at least it made Jimbo sign the petition, now he's officially one of us.

Even with this I will still buy the DVDs. I do like the other three confirmed changes. Better Jabba animation, fixed lightsabers, new Emperor hologram are all good changes. Han and Greedo restoration is also still a possibility. I have my fingers crossed. This change with Hayden is awful. I have nothing against Hayden (besides him being a lucky basterd getting paid to make out with Natalie Portman). Still it doesn't make sense that Anakins spirit would be young again. It would also put a hole of why Luke recognizes him. It is unnessesary and disrespectful to the memory of the original Anakin.

Wow... now I'm ready to believe that almost anything is possible, given enough nagging.

Yes... perhaps we could sway Lucas to our side. He would be a powerful ally. Can it be done?

lol if u think this is bad... think about this...
he still has a good 2-3 months to add further changes...

dont forget that when the SE were announced there were a couple small scenes that no one had even seen yet... so although we are going to have a sneak peek at some stuff... there still may be more shit tinkered that we dont know about...

and i know he has more coming.. this is just the tip of the iceberg....

He only has one month. The discs must be finished around three months before they are released in order for them to produce enough copys to give to all those who want them.

That's odd. "Pink Floyd in Pompeii" (horrible) Director's Cut DVD had their menu's layout changed less than a month before the release.

Here's some confirmed changes:

1: Lightsaber fixes.
2: New Jabba model, animation, and composites, but Han still steps on tail.
3: Some matte fixes and recomps.
4: Greedo tweaked, but still shoots first.
5: Rancor matte fixes and recomps.


BTW, no CG Yoda in the OT, but CG Yoda in TPM:SE.

Good to hear that Yoda's not being CGed in the classic trilogy, but as for changing Yoda in TPM? That's one change I would support.
I hope Lucasfilm confirms all of the changes soon, but they probably won't because some of them might scare away buyers (like me, over the Hayden Christensen insert, though I've already decided not to buy them regardless).

Confirmed? By whom?

I do believe that list is likely to be correct, especially the Greedo scene since I have seen the footage, but I don't think LFL has confirmed anything as of yet.
Greedo shoots first? Not in my DVD player.

Where is this confirmed by. Only 3 of the five have been confirmed from what I see.

Dear God, are those clips real? If that really is GL doing the commentary, it sounds like he honestly doesn't remember two different versions of the films, just the SE.

I think that's the point. That's what he wants people to accept as gospel truth, that the 77/80/83 versions no longer exist. Hence why this website was set up.

Yeah, I know. It makes me even more determined to boycott. And I was thinking about it and I was wondering how much of what he has said over the years is true. I've heard him say that he originally had the entire original trilogy in mind back before ANH was ever made, but after I hear him talking about how he originally envisioned Greedo shooting first, how Luke was supposed to scream falling down the shaft on Bespin, and the like, I really don't trust the guy.

Also, if anyone else has seen the clips, did any of you find his symbolic interpretation of the trench assault in ANH a little strange?

I hope you're right. I didn't check the file names myself, but if it is fake, whoever impersonated GL did a convincing job.
