Have any of you guys watched Samurai Champloo?

I've heard some good things about it from a buddy of mine, and I'd like to see what any of you think.

I didn't catch the first episode, so I missed out on the start of the plot, so I thought it was a bit confusing.

Otherwise, I'm not too fond of the color schemes they use... But I didn't see anything particularly bad about it.

The best anime series of there for all you star wars or star trek fans is space battleship yamato/ star blazers. Miyazakis films are awesome. Then theres eighties cartoons like droids, transformers, he man, thundercats, gi joe etc.

I bet you've never even watched Avatar. It is a psuedo anime in he vein of Record of the Lodoss War, except toned down for non-Japanese children [sarcasm] who for some reason can't have death in cartoons without becoming serial killers.[/sarcasm]

And FoP and Danny Phantom... they're just great entertainment.

BTW, any Gundam Wing fans out there?

I recently...acquired the full series and am in the process of watching them.

I'm through episode 5 and so far its shaping up pretty good.

I was always a fan of the show when I was younger, but it was confusing to me then and I mostly watched it for Heavy Arms and all his machine guns. Heh.

There are definitely some cringe-worthy moments, mostly from Relena.

Maybe I should watch it in Japanese to alleviate that problem.

Poorly acted, she says the right things judging from the subtitles taken from the original Japanese version but they were just delivered poorly.

Yeah, usually switching to Japanese alivieates the problem of poor delivery. Of course, the sound quality is usually knowwhere near as good, so it's an annoying trade to have to make.

Actually, in the Dual Rips I downloaded the Japanese sound quality is much better than the dub, seeing as they had to run the japanese mix of sound effects etc through a machine, add the dubs, and replace the audio.

"dual rips" = dual audio files that were ripped from the official DVDs and were downloaded from an anime bittorrent network to my computer.
