I couldn't wait and I bought the first five eps on VHS.

Some of the things that happen are so random, but still, it is better than the new show no matter how hard it tries.

Quick question about Family Guy...

Does Peter ever lose his ability to play the piano when drunk? I intend to give him a cameo in a fanfiction I'm writing and need to know!

Chris : "Yeah, except for the time Dad hit that deer."

(Cut to country road. A deer's car has collided with the Griffins'. They inspect the crash.)

Peter : "Looks like it's justa ding; you know, there's really no reason to get the insurance companies involved."

Deer : "Well you know, I should still take down your information, though. . ."

Peter : "Really? Cause you know, you could probably just buff that out."

Deer : "No, I would really, I would really feel better if I got your information."

My favorite quote from that show
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

So far as I recall, he only loses his ability to play as he sobers up.
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is 'Never get involved in a land war in Asia'."

Evil Ghost General: So, I'm looking for recruits to my army. To take over the world. Your name.

Ghost Peter: My name is Peter, and I have a problem.

Evil Ghost General: Problem?

Ghost Peter: *comes out of drunken stupor* Holy Crap! This isn't ecto-holics anonymous... LOIS!?!?! *Looks for his wife*

Evil Ghost General: *sighs dejectedly* Do you have any special talents?

Ghost Peter: Well. I can play the piano better than that kid from charlie brown when I'm drunk!

Evil Ghost General:*Obtains Migrane* Well. You're utterly worthless. There has to be a better way to get new recruits *Uses evil powers to destroy Ghost Peter* NEXT!!

On an unrelated note, today, I just realized how crappy DragonBall GT is compared to it's predecesors. I officially hate Toei animation now.

DBGT is a crappy anime made for milking more money out of the DB series, and had no participation from Akira Toriyama, so... Although the TV special about Pan's grandson searching the dragon balls is kinda neat - it's the last official anime with a DB name on it.

I've been debating whether or not to get that. The US release is called "A Hero's Legacy."

Last night's episode of DragonBall GT, I swear, consisted entirely of Vegeta having flashbacks about his first two figths with Goku. (Hearing Chris Sabat's voice from Season One Vegeta's character design was way weird)

It included the first beam struggle-Gallick Gun versus Kamehameha, with enough flashing lights to drive all of Japan into seizures. ANd that first struggle looks SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL than any of the suposedly "Times Ten" Kamehameha's in DBGT. The animation for GT consists of 90% still pictures!

When I was young I always heard that GT sucked, but I never wanted to believe that. But now I realize all those people were right. And then the insult us by showing an episode of flashbacks of a much better series before Toie screwed up Vegeta and made Goku a child again. Ugh..
Makes me mad. The only GT episodes I really like was the one in which Super Android 17 is killed. I was surrpised that the English cast gave GREAT (for them, anyway) performances in that one.

But I will never accept Funimation's giving Dr. Myu a Russian accent. HE'S FROM OUTER-KRIFFING-SPACE!!!

Well why do you think they call it "Drag On Ball"? They have to fill 80 episodes with a saga than can be easily be told in 10 episodes. There are only two anime who can drag the story more than DB could: Shurato and Street Fighter - there was an episode of the Street Fighter anime series that consisted of Vega laughing and showing up his powers to Chun Li. That's it. That's the episode.

The only thing that's worth watching from Dragon Ball is the Bardock special, maybe the Future Trunks TV special, maaaaybe this last DBGT TV special. The rest is pretty much crap.

Not really. The first Vegeta Saga was awesome. Frieza saga had some good moments when it wasn't being stuffed with filler and drug out like fifty years. The Cell and Buu Sagas had great animation. I really can't stand the Trunks special. the Pacing of the whole thing is terrible. It feels like it should be half as long or divided into episodes or something.

The Bardock special really does rule though. But Sonny Strait can't act worth crap in the Dub.

Well you know how I feel about dubbing anime.

Hmm?? I vaguely remember a discussion about that.

Either way, it should be done professionally, but too often a bunch of talentless hacks are chosen because they'll work cheaply.

I'm sure you could have done a better job than some of the real actors. Geez just think. You'd be almost semi-famous if you had taken the job.

Ouch. Fate is cruel.

Still, compared to say Chris Sabat's Vegeta or his surfer dude Yamucha, even a normal guy with a cold would sound better. Were you just auditioning in general or for a specific part?

They should have gotten Tom Kenny to voice Kuririna-san. That was back before Spongebob turned him into a celebrity, I think, so he would have been cheaper to hire.
