That reminds me related on this subject that allegedly when Natalie and Carrie met in public, Carrie did something kind of funny. She was pointing to Natalie and said something to the effect of, "Here's my mother."

I agree with you, Motti. But I think you know that already. We are both in agreement that he is just underdirected in AOTC.

I don't like Mark Hamill so much. I mean, I can't think of anyone else to play Luke than him, but still... I don't know, he seems to be so weird... and have you guys noticed how different and aged he seems to be on ESB and ROTJ, compared to ANH?

HC, he is ok. I don't think he is a bad actor, it's not easy to act when you have greenscreens, a prequel script by GL, and GL himself sitting on the director's chair, besides, it's one hell of a resposibility, acting on a star wars movie... one mistake, and all the fan will hate your guts for eternity...

no matter who GL chose to play anakin, he would not have been received well by the majority... filling the shoes of anakin skywalker / darth vader takes requires very big feet...

Oh which reminds me... is HC as tall as David Prowse? I mean... he was supposed to be the same height...

i dont think that HC is 2 metres tall... but noone ever said that anakin was 2 metres tall. DV was...

Carre wins hands down. 2 reasons:

1) As of yet, we have not seen Natalie Portman in a bikini

2) I can watch the original trilogy over and over again and see Carrie Fisher over and over again. But I can't think of a single good reason to watch Eps 1 or 2 more than once, so Natalie Portman being hot is kinda moot...

And about Mark Hammil and HC. Mark is the coolest guy ever. Most actors is attached to something like Star Wars, they spend the rest of their career running from it. Mark Hammil is totally cool with being Luke Skywalker cuz he knows thousands of us geeks out there would kill to be thought of as Luke Skywalker everywhere you go. And that's cool.

ricarleite, what do you mean about Mark being "differant"? He's supposed to be more "aged". One, because he's maturing alot as he learns of the Force. I mean, I think he's pretty much the same in ESB as in ANH up until him going to Degobah. Then he starts to change.

I know, but, but it goes off-character, it almost looks like it's not the same person. Like Peter Sellers in the original Pink Panther, and in the post-1975 Pink Panthers.

I can't blame that on Mark, I think it may have been a latent affect of his car accident. Not to mention, he was naturally aging prematurely, the movies from Wing Commander anyone?
Author

Exaclty, DJR. MH's car accident and the botched plastic surgery that followed seriously disfigured his face, a result that has only been amplified by age. That being said, he's probably had the most interesting post-SW career: appearing on stage in Amadeus, doing vocie work for Batman (not to mention a hilarious cameo in the Disney series Pepper Ann), a strong association with the comic book industry; take that, Harrison Ford!

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

And he only appears on screen now if his face is masked somehow. Hence the beard in his Comic Book movie and the make up in his role as Cockknocker in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Cool. Not to mention, I like Mark at least a little more then Harrison Ford. Is it because Ford hasn't made good pictures after SW and IJ? No, what I really hate is exactly how he writes of being Han Solo. He acts like being Indiana Jones was what made him big. What a load of BS. If Tom Selleck hadn't been doing Magnum P.I., Harrison would be up sh@@ creek and he knows it. And my question is, if history had happened that way, you think he might have a little more respect for the character he played twice, and became famous from, before Indy even came along?

there was always Frantic and the Tom clancy series... but still IJ appealed to a larger public at the time.
