I've been reading these forums for several months. After the first month or so, I cut back my visits here to just every two or three weeks. Then the SE DVDs were announced and the signature count started skyrocketing. Now, not only do I read the forums every day. I check the signature count several times a day! Sometimes over a hundred times a day! I CAN'T STOP CLICKING THAT D*MN REFRESH BUTTON!!
Anyway, I won't be buying these SE-only DVDs. I think I'll wait until the six-film box set is released. That will probably be our last realistic hope for an official release of the theatrical version. Seriously considering "backups" (wink, wink) in the meantime. Thanks everybody for fighting the good fight.
*click* 54,173! Yeah! *click* 54,176!! Woo-HOO!! On average, Americans work nearly nine full weeks longer per year than our peers in Western Europe do. www.timeday.org

Whos to say everyone who signed the petition will boycott the DVDs. My friend signed it saying he wants all versions but said he prefers the Special Editions and will buy the DVDs. There are many more like him.
I don't think anyone expects all of us who signed the petition to boycott the DVDs. (Though it would be nice if they did.) In fact, there are several here who have said that they're looking forward to getting their hands on them. And I believe that you're right about there being many more who will buy the SE-only DVDs than those (like me) who will hold out for the real thing.
It's a free market. Consumers are free to buy inferior products if they wish. ....Hmm. Maybe we should try to get Ralph Nader in on this. "Star Wars Special Edition DVDs are unsafe at any speed!"

The biggest german StarWars forum I know, has a topic about this site stickied since... erhm... I forgot since when, but it's been there for a long time - a long time. And I suppose it'll stay until hell freez...errr...the OT comes out on DVD.
I've seen a quite noticeable amount of german speaking signers as of late. I'll order a small scout arm... err... see to it that I find any new german languaged sites supporting the petition, so they can get kudos for their support.
Promote the use of Babelfish for non-english reading visitors. Last time I checked, it was a decent translation system for a large number of languages.

I hate to double post but this is important. Do not mention the web address of the site directly like originaltrilogy.com, instead as the petion at originaltrilogy or you'll violate the no URL thing, also remember 5 to 7 business days.
