yes but Obi-wan is one of the two main heros in AOTC. Half the storyline is following his adventure, the primary conflict of which is him trying to find and eventually capture Jango Fett.

"Yes, they would make great sense. Obi-Wan takes down Jango, what seems to be a Jedi Master-like feat, and can't stand more then a minute or so with Dooku. Hmmm, perhaps I guess. "

1) I don't think it would take a jedi master to defeat Jango, he's just a very skilled normal guy with gadgets. Obi-wan would of eventually bested him. He beat maul, are you saying Jango is more powerful then Maul?

2)Well personally I don't think Obi-wan fighting dooku was all that nessesary, I would rather have Obi-wan vs Jango intercut with Anakin fighting Dooku alone. That would of been a much better climax IMHO

"okay well do some people at least agree with my other two problems i posted???
those were the two i thought Lucas should have really looked at the law of physics and human capability."

the wire wrist thing really bugs me as well. I know this is Sw but they should still have some basic sense of reality

The scene I could of done with out with, is the Droid factory in AOTC....Now that was action for actions sake.

They could have a little more Dooku instead, find out what he really is about!

I liked the Droid Factory; takes me back to my youth...

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

After developing my appreciation for C-3PO later in life that I never had as a child (couldn't stand his whining), I actually liked the Droid Factory. Unnecessary... yes. But fun. The swapped heads with Threepio and some of the humor there was good. However, this scene does clearly demonstrate some of the trappings of blue screen acting.

maybe it was a bit far fetched luke, but if we look at the laws of physics then explain "hyper-space"...

The Droid Factory may have been fun, but it still has that fucked up line that 3PO says in it!!!

The "I wonder what happened to poor R2, he's always getting himself into trouble" line!

good point Motti

Rebel, good point too, and I believe it brings up another plot problem. In TPM the jedi council at first decides not to train Anakin because of his age and they question his future.
When they do decide to train him they give the task to Obiwan. Think about that, they fear Anakins future to the point that at first they decide not to train him but then they put his fate in the hands of someone who just became a Jedi himself. What was Yoda doing? surely there were others better fit to train Anakin than an inexperience Jedi. When I first saw ROTJ I thought that Obiwan trained Anakin without Yoda's blessing or knowledge. Ben says he took it upon himself to train Anakin in ROTJ.

well obiwan did get yodas blessing technically. and he said that he would go against the council if he needed to.

I doubt he would have gone against the council if the council had assigned Yoda or some other more experienced Jedi to task of training Anakin. Obi just wanted to see to it that Anakin was trained thats all.

i think he wouldve vetoed for him to train him as well.

1. Obi-Wan lucked out mostly with Maul. If anything Darth Maul should have killed Obi-Wan and changed the saga practically, but it was not meant to be. Is Jango more powerful then Maul? Maybe, with his flying around with his jetpack and stuff, it would be a hard fight for most Jedi.
2. I thought Obi-Wan fighting Dooku was very needed. It shows so many things better. We figure out obviously that Dooku is a Sith. We find out that Sidious is not the only one with force lightening. Also and most important of all. Showing how Anakin throws himself to save Obi-Wan. If he had not, Dooku would have made tuna fish out of Obi-Wan. And on a tanget, I also think Yoda and Dooku/Tyranus fighting is important in that is shows how powerful Yoda truly is. I mean come on, with Yoda going to be in 5 out of 6 of the Star Wars movies and as head of the Jedi Council, you never wanted to know if he was all he was cracked up to be? I would also say the same of Mace, I don't want his only fight onscreen to be his death scene.

My two cents and either way, I think you made some good points Rebel Scumb.

Simply attributing every illogical thing to the force is a copout by lucas IMHO.

Which would of been a lot better.

As for the droid factory. I like it, its one of the few scenes I do like in AOTC, it is pointless action, but its good, and we needed to see Anakin with a saber at some point in the movie showing that he has some skills. Plus I've just always wanted a temple of doom style conveyor belt action scene in SW

I agree that it might have been better if Obi-Wan had been without the Counc's blessing, but I also think it is more tragic to even show the legendary Jedi Council did not heed the signs. Besides to me in TPM, Obi-Wan took upon himself to train Anakin when Qui-Gon died, regardless of what Yoda would have said to him in the room, especially to me when Obi-Wan did say, "I will train Anakin, without the approval of the Council if I must."

I also like the droid factory showing off Anakin's skills, having the classic Artoo saves our butt scene between him and Padme, and also I did like the humor with Threepio, especially when I figured out it was really a better redone scene with Threepio in AOTC then Jar Jar as much in TPM.

jedis cant fly can they?

Jedi's cannot fly obviously, but they can slow their descent when needed. Mace Windu falling from the balcony or even the book Courtship of Princess Leia (a book written before Episode 1) has Luke descending after his ship is destroyed on Dathomir, meters and meters into the air. So I would say it would be very easy for Obi-Wan not to rip his hand.

well to each his own...

ok but then you could also ask how does Luke survuve that fall after Vader has cut off his hand in the fight in ESB. i think the explanation with the force works.

HGF as far as the Luke falling in ESB goes, I don't think he used the force to slow his descent there, but he was "sucked" into that pipe. I don't think he had either the presence of mind or the skills at that point to use the force in that way (also why didn't he use it when he falls from that antenna onto the "Falcon"; that looks so painful...). However I do agree with you in theory that it would work.
