CAPRICA

I'm not impressed, intrigued, or hopeful after seeing that trailer.  Unless something really big happens in the next 10 episodes of BSG that make some of the outlandish things in that trailer make sense, I couldn't care less about this.

Nonetheless, I'll give it a shot.  I thought the same thing about BSG before the miniseries aired ... then I watched it.  And I'm still watching it.  And I'll be upset when the last episode finishes.  But nothing's gotten me excited about "Caprica," which sucks because I'd like something to fill that void when BSG is gone.

i'll watch it also..

yeah, i still prefer the original battlestar galactica from the 70's-80's....over the new one..

but there's not much else going on tv...(except torchwood/doctor who)..but they're all on hiatus too..

Since it is a prequel series to BSG, the events of BSG could do very little to make it make sense.

I was slightly disappointed when I had heard they shelfed Caprica, and I was slightly excited when I heard that it was off the shelf. I am not sure about the trailer, but from the premise of the show I read sometime ago, it seems like it will be pretty interesting. However, I do not see it filling any voids caused by the loss of BSG. For me BSG was at its best during battle scenes and dog fights, and at its lowest during the "elevator" episodes, which seem to have become very frequent over the corse of seasn three. I forsee Caprica being one big "elevator" episode of a series. Which is kind of the point since they were looking for a way to keep BSG's fans with a lower budget spin-off.

I am looking forward to seeing this, but I am not expecting greatness, nor a second season.

What I mean is, the idea that the original Cylons were "skinjobs" of a sort doesn't gel with current Galactica mythology, so unless there's something that changes this (and a few other things) by the end of the season, I'm not terribly interested in "Caprica."

I've heard they rushed this because a script was in hand and they needed material coming out of the Writer's strike. In my opinion the chances of this going to series are slim, so I won't even bother unless people are dumbstruck after watching it.
