This is a bit weird to post here but what the hell.

I was hanging out with my little cousin today and he wanted cinnamon toast. So I make him some. As can be expected with little kids they don't eat a lot and you always get left with leftovers. So I ate the left over cinnamon toast.

Damn it was good. I hadn't had cinnamon toast sense I was like 9 years old. I forgot how good it was.

That got me wondering. What else is good breakfast food that you haven't had in years? Is it still good today?

Don't forget: with Lacuna, you can forget.

I know one thing, this thread has got me craving cinnamon toast.

I eat about a liter of Honey-Nut Toastie-Os (the Malt-o-meal brand...I actually like them better than Cheerios) every day for breakfast.

What I haven't had in a while: anything with marshmallows. Anything with a very high sugar content.

Speaking of Malt-O-Meal, their Scooters(whole-grain cheerio knockoffs) are great. They taste *better* than Cheerios IMO.

I normally reheat what's left of our Pizza hut order for breakfast.

I remember I used to stay with my grandmother every weekend years ago.

When she cooked breakfast, she usually went all out: hashbrowns, bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits, toast, milk, the works.

I never really had breakfast, we didn't use to have big breakfasts and stuff, and it's not a local culture thing 'cause people here usually do, but I don't. Sometimes I used to have some chocolate milk as a kid, but now I don't eat anything at all until lunchtime. Sometimes I get some coffee at work, but that's it.

I moved out of my parents in '98. Mom used to make me bacon, home fries (sliced potatos) with bits of onion, toast, juice and muffins on Sundays. That's one of those northeastern breakfasts that really keeps you warm in the winter.

I don't think I would be able to eat bacon so early in the morning... Once when I was working in another city I tried to eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, I felt sick all morning.

What's good is having breakfast food for dinner. Once in a while, my wife and I will cook up some pancakes and eggs for dinner. Good eats.

You know it! I usually only 'drink' my breakfast- black coffee- because I've found eating in the morning just makes me hungrier througout the day. But breakfast goodies for dinner kick some serious butt!

And Chaltab, on those odd occasions we get pizza these days, I like it one of two ways: either hot out of the oven or cold in the morning!

Pizza tastes better when re-heated at the microwave the following day.

Depends on the pizza. I have had some that just doesn't do well on the reheat circuit. Blech! And there is some that just is no good cold, either.

Best way to reheat though is with a pizza stone in the oven if you have the time.

Pizza stone? There is such a thing? Intended to make pizza? I'll look for one of these...

Yeah, I think we have one up in a cabinet somewhere.

Here is one I found on google:

Aww a pizza stone kicks ass for reheating pizza. I don't really like it when you use it for frozen pizza. It just cooks weird for me, it could be my stone. Anyway I like it.

The woman got a great one from a Pampered Chief party. Actually she got a ton of stuff. It's like a tupperware party but with cooking stuff.

Anyway if you can get one of those I like them the best.

Cold pizza is good too.

I'm that way too.
I'll eat thin crust pizza at room temperature, but I don't like cold pizza. Pan-style pizza I prefer to heat up in the microwave.

Well, everyone knows that good old italian pizza, not the "fast-food'ed" one, must be prepared on an authentic fireplace oven for pizzas (I don't know the word for that kind of oven in english but ah who cares). Never on a gas or electric oven. Of course, while at home, a regular oven can do the trick. I also enjoy doing fried pizza, put some oil on a pan, and put your pizza in, and let it fry! Tastes all crunchy, and is a sure way to get that extra cholesterol RIGHT to your heart.

Yeah, well good luck fitting a brickoven in your kitchen, and that's only if you can find a place that would sell one on the retail market.

Gas and electric ovens are the only way to cook a pizza period if you're at home. What choice do you have?

Mackey, we have the Pampered Chef stone as well. Works like a dream. And we do use it for frozen pizzas as well. Turns out great. Just remember that with pizza stones, you do not wash them with soap. I know that means it looks pretty nasty, but the porous nature of the stone means that it sucks up the soap and doesn't let it go. Read the instructions. They say not to clean with soap. You'll wind up with a nasty taste. All you can really do is clean with a rag or sponge and water.

If I run across your IHOPped grave, I'll make sure to pour a 40 of syrup over your stone as a tribute to my pancake-lovin' homie!
