The country and its people need to get responsible and limit their population within their production capabilities. The massive hunger in Haiti is caused by crippling foreign debt, the long term effects of colonization and fascist governments, massive deforestation and soil erosion, and an infrastructure and agriculture hobbled by the policies of US farm subsidies.
The terrible famine in East Africa is caused by a horrible drought, and a nation lacking the infrastructure and stability to deal with it because of two decades of Civil War. Most regions have become one-food-source areas, and without interconnectivity to supplement them, interruption to that one food source is catastrophic.
Gee, I sure wish all these irresponsible starving people would just stop it.
