mebejedi, that looks real good. Are you going to do a dual layer version down the road? I hope one day we can get the boots better than the laserdisc itself.

looking for HDTV of the  Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.  Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy

I don't care much about the other material (and I already have the DVD made from the Definitive Edition bonus LD). A 2 DVD set, with 2 documentaries on each DVD, would be fine! (as a DVD-R can easily hold 2 hours of video)

I don't know if this is the place to post this, but would someone be willing to make me a DVD? There are a few Star Wars things I'd love to get on DVD, but don't have the hardwear/softwear (or the knowlege) to create my own DVD... I will be willing to pay up to $70.00 dollars (Plus shipping and handling if needed) to whoever makes the DVD... Wide screen would be nice, but I don't care that much, and I don't need surround sound or any of that. I would like the menu to have a "Play all" command, but also a "Scene Selection" and "Play Select" command.

The DVD is a collection of short Star Wars related videos. Is it okay to post the list of videos here, or should I send a message with the list to somebody who is willing to make it?

Good job on that new transfer MeBeJedi, there's much more detail in those shots and the black level is excellent. Keep up the good work! Can´t wait to see some shots when you start on Empire Strikes Back, the most important movie in the Star Wars saga!

PS. Btw, I suggest you get yourself a hold of the TR47 transfer, because that´s the version you should be comparing your transfer to. Most seem to think it is currently the best one out there so you should use that, learn from it and try to improove upon it, that´s the only way we are gonna see a better bootleg I think. Even if you manage to match the TR47 version and loose the 4 second delay in ESB you´ve already got a clear winner just there. And I´m not even going into the pure genius of it if you manage to make your transfer anamorphic too, while still providing a sharp image...

MBJ, great work, it looks amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on the set, any time table on when you might be finished?

Question for you guys though. Would it be at all doable to use the transfers from the new official set and just edit out the new scenes and add the transfers MBJ is doing for example? That would seem like the best of both worlds, I just don't know if it's doable.

MeBeJedi, when I posted earlier it was around 5 in the morning... I was half asleep

Man, I just went back to look over your new screen grabs and those look amazing.

You da man!

Hey, do you have ESB where you can make some screen grabs? I would love to see something from the Hoth scenes.

Keep up the good work

Rik, I'm still not done tinkering.

"Even if you manage to match the TR47 version and loose the 4 second delay in ESB"

The Faces set has no delay, and Rik never even saw my disk-flips/swaps.

wait, so what about restored scenes from the 2004 dvds for an "ultimate edition? for instance, the jawa shots from the definitives are in really bad shape. Really really bad shape. If I were to make one, they'd definitely be replaced.

Hey Ritker,

any news on putting up the SEs? I don't mean to rush you, just don't want us to forget either... this is an exciting SW week to say the least.

sorry for the repost... but it seems my original post was overlooked. It is busy in here

Well, it's not surprising that a request for the SE's was overlooked. It's not quite the focus here at the moment. Sorry...

(That being said, if someone trusts me with their SE LD's......)

Hmmm.. considering there are now 3 versions of the trilogy... The "special edition" seems like a poor cousin, with all the VERY DATED CGI. The original effects haven't dated at all that badly.

@MeBeJedi - A suggestion for releasing your set:

Two versions for the trilogy-

1) The Standard Set
Specs -
Non-Anamorphic Video
PCM Audio
Commentary
Full Menus

2) The "Home Theater" Set
Specs -
Anamorphic Video
Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio
No Menus or Extras

Just a suggestion, and after the credits roll (all the credits) on both versions, put a DVD credit section, like "DVD encoded, authored, and designed by MeBeJedi using x software and y hardware" or something like that.

Okay, even though those official DVD captures kinda took the wind out of my sails...

I managed to keep playing around some, and came up with this. Whaddaya think?

(If anyone complains, I swear I'm gonna throw a thermal grenade in the room! )

BTW, I didn't put "old" and "new". I'll leave it up to you folks to figure it out.

Dem blacks be blacka den black! An' dat's a fact, ya'll!

Once again, praise be with ye'! (Now get the fiddlin' over with so we can HAVE these transfers already! )
For as much as some people claim to hate what Star Wars has become, they sure seem incapable of shutting up about it.

Arrrgh! it's so annoying that you only have the laserdiscs to work from,
those pictures really show that if you had a better source in the first place you could come up with something that easily equals a $$$ comercial effort

I felt bad for posting those "official" DVD caps because they did show all the imperfections of all the other transfers but now it looks like those pics are eggn' you on to greatness.

Those new shots look amazing.
