Bond, James Bond — Page 4

I agree also, there's something about Pierce Brosnan I don't like. I think he was cockier than Connery and Moore.

How is that Ironic?

One of my pet hates is misuse of the word Irony. For example, the only thing Ironic about that song by Alanis Morrisette is that none of the examples she sings about are actually Ironic.

Jag, if you are not Adam, I apologise, but you very much remind me of him. Anyway, this is the Bond thread, so let's not go off-track - I am a fan of Dalton's Bond and the 2 movies he was in.

First of all, explain why you called me AWK.

I'm sorry that I "went off-track". But I don't see how going off-track makes me AWK.

It doesn't. I apologised, we're done. Now back to Bond.

No worries, I'd just be happy to move on and be done with it. This should help:

There's no offense here. Just differing opinions. I'm not against any era of Bond.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

"The Spy Who Loved Me." Great song. "Live and Let Die." Even better song!

I don't recall ever weighing in on this thread...

Connery has to be my favorite Bond. I think Dalton did a good job. Roger Moore was given too many witty comebacks and I honestly haven't seen enough of Brosnan as Bond (but plenty as Remington Steele).

For my favorite Bond film...I probably have to go with From Russia with Love or Goldfinger. Dr. No ranks up there too.

However, if I may add a 'favorite moment', it has to be when Rowan Atkinson is chasing Bond, yelling his name, in Never Say Never Again.

My favorite moment in any of Bond filmes would have to be Bond's intro in DR. NO. Cool Scene

Now, I'm a huge fan of Remington Steele, and if PB had taken the role in the 80s, before AVTAK and when Moore was poised to drop out, he would have been perfect for the mindset of the era.

I enjoy silly Bond films, but not stupid ones, like Diamonds are Forever, the silliest Connery Bond, the Spy who Loved Me, with the best soundtrack and the introduction of Jaws (who should be kept on the series), apart from the decent plot, and Moonraker with the cool opening sequence, the cheesy silliness (Bond IN SPACE) and the hilarious trip to Brazil. And from the Pierce Brosnan era, all were good except Die Another Day, my favorites being Goldeneye and The World is not Enough.

But of course Goldfinger has its merits too

Fantastic read. Has it been featured at commanderbond.net?

Edit: Sounds like it's a hoax. Simon Bermuda speaks here on CB.n.

And now a word from Pierce Brosnan describing George Lazenby -

"George is just an angry, old, pissed off guy. He was never an actor, but some pissed-off Aussie who doesn't know how to show his feminine side. I met him, and he's got that kind of brittle edge to him."
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Nobody ever involved with EON is tactful when it comes to the subject of Lazenby. Doesn't mean he wasn't better than the critics wrote ... just means all those involved see him as a mistake.

Kinda like how they'll be viewing Daniel Craig a year from now.

I don't think chosing Craig is the problem here. The problem here is the way they decided that Craig should play Bond. I think the same thing did in Brosnan.
