When ripping blurays for stuff like fanedits what software do you recommend?

MakeMKV is quite a popular piece of software for doing that - along with some useful tutorials online; both video and forum discussions.

Handbrake is a decent alternative too - easy to use - though apparently it does not rip commercial blu rays.

If I was to use that what would be the best method in converting the MKV into MP4?
