Funny enough, I’m working on a set of covers.
Looks like it’ll make a nice set!
I would absolutely love to see a cover set based on the recent Star Wars Celebration Mural.

Can’t wait!

Here they are:
Very nice. What is the source of this artwork?
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Very nice. What is the source of this artwork?
It is the mural displayed at Star Wars Celebration this year.
If memory serves, this is where I saved it from: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/bc37os/star_wars_celebration_mural_by_jason_palmer_hq/
There is also artwork for Clone Wars and Rebels in there, but I didn’t feel particularly obliged to create covers for those. Maybe I will someday.
I used Darth Lucas’ template using his spines, slightly modified. Here’s all nine episodes, I haven’t completed the rest, but I have finished Episodes I-IX. I hope you like them. I love the artwork and I didn’t want to cover them up with words, so this is kind of inspired by those old Star Wars VHS tapes of the 90’s and the classic Star Wars toys of the late 70’s and early 80’s. I left the back covers blank. You can add what you like to them, enjoy. Thoughts and comments appreciated, good or bad.
The last one is for fun.
I was thinking about making a set similar to this. I might leave the text plain white. I don’t know.

Here’s the rest of them.

If only the lightsaber from TFA was edited out of this, it would be perfect.

@NeverarGreat, I’ll try and fix that, I’ll see what I can do with Grievous in ROTS and TCW might have to cut and paste. I’m going to try and add Snoke to The Last Jedi, going to see what it looks like. I just have to find the right Snoke art, that corresponds to the art created by Jason Palmer. I know The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker text is a little bright, I might adjust the coloring on those.
Here’s an alternate version of The Force Awakens with BB-8
Here’s an alternate version of Return of the Jedi without the blue lightsaber from TFA in the way.
These two are for fun
Snoke added to TLJ
My reason for Editing was because I had to correct spacing between the letters and words, they were way off. I only corrected the ones that were considerably bad. I also added new links.

How did you do that?
Also, did you make one for Caravan Of Courage? (Haven’t seen those movies in a long time).

I have a program that I use, but it’s not photoshop, it’s something else. I’m going to make one for Caravan of Courage soon. I know there’s mistakes in this set, but currently I’m taking a small break, but will work on them later this weekend. The spacing and centering is still off, so I have to work on that. I’m looking for ideas and input as to what to do next. I’ll probably make a ink saver version and add the back covers to these next. I’m trying to figure out how to do the Mandalorian. I might just draw on it paper and add some effects, I don’t know yet.
Wow, those covers are a beauty in their simplicity.

Great work. That poster is yet another reminder of how much I miss painted movie posters. I guess it’s hard hiring artists. Today, if a movie does have a painted poster in marketing, it’s either for Dolby cinemas, or IMAX, instead of making it the official one for its theatrical release.

Thank you Skywalkerfan101. Nobody will step up like Drew Struzan did. I think the studios don’t care anymore. They can make a poster in Photoshop. I just wish they would hire some artists for these big summer films. Can you imagine an Avengers Endgame poster drawn by Drew Struzan?
Please bring back the painted movie posters.

Granted, there are some good digital posters out there, but a painted one is always more iconic for bigger movies. Look at Struzan’s unreleased sketches for other films.

Here’s a unique and different take on the Holiday Special. I’ve seen so many of the same artwork for Holiday Special, that I thought I would give it a try. While this isn’t any of my artwork, it is a variety of other artists work that I put together and tinkered with. This is only for fun, and no copyright infringement is intended. I’m not selling it or anything, it’s free. I hope you like it.
A darker version, which I think looks better.
Something I’m currently working on… expect a massive set coming soon!

That’s cool, I like your covers. Great job
I’m normally not a fan of photoshopped cover art that just uses old promo photos, but there’s something elegant about the minimalism of these.
I also like the consistency in how the characters are arranged; villain always bottom center, alien character bottom left, etc.
I’m curious though, is there a particular reason why you chose those exact colours for the different films? I can’t put my finger on it, but for some reason those colours seems to really fit the films (especially for the OT).
Star Wars is Surrealism, not Science Fiction (essay)

^ Thanks!
The colors were pretty easy actually. My mind was already set to make III purple since that’s where Mace Windu has his standoff with Palpatine. Then I thought of the main colors of red, yellow, green and blue. Naturally, blue hed to be for IV, since Luke’s blue lightsaber is the first time we se lightsaber in action. Then I went on with red for V since that’s Vaders color, and finaly green for VI for Luke’s new saber.
For I and II, it was a bit more difficult, because I also wanted red for I, but finally chose orange since that is also a warm color like red, and ended with yellow for II to remind of the whole Geonosis thing.
That’s pretty much it 😃
Here’s my take on the John Alvin artworks:
If I’m not back in five minutes, just wait longer!

Cool covers, although could you make an alternate version of these with a white background instead of a black one?
