I just got interested in good sound and I have a few questions.
- I just bought a pair of Grado SR-80i's what else do I need?
- Could I use my computer to listen to music? I have a netbook. A Acer Aspire One 751h. Will that make good sound?
- If I use a jailbroken app to play FLAC how well will it sound?
1. Get yourself a headphone amp, especially if you're going to be listening on your computer. Headphone jacks on computers aren't exactly loaded with amp power and they can be pretty noisy. The headphone amp will connect to your computer's cleaner line level output and provide the amplification. A good, cheap headphone amp that I use myself is one based on the CMOY design. You can usually find a few on ebay.
2. See #1.
3. Probably pretty good. All my music is stored on my Mac as 320kbps MP3s. If I'm being completely honest, I can't tell the difference between the MP3 and the original CD with my Sennheiser 595 headphones, and my friends call me "dog ears."
