I didn't get them the first go around, else I'd be happy to send them back. Alas.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Me neither unfortunately, as I was just going to wait for the final set.

Hope you keep at it, as it's a high one on my list. :)

Anybody?

glad I could help. Blade Runner is an obsession of mine. I even did a university presentation on it!

Not to threadcrap, but most of what is being attempted here has already been done by a number of people over on the Yahoo Bladerunner Soundtrack group.

No it hasn't.

Firstly, I am a member of the Yahoo group. I have complete respect for it, it's members, and anyone else that considers themselves Blade Runner and Vangelis fans. The group shares and talks about commonly available tracks from the soundtrack, sources from the bootlegs, and the official releases. What you are referring to are a few members of that group, some of whom have made what are simply "fan edits". These edits contain less material then is available and are solely the point of view of that person. The tracks consist of some music ported over from bootlegs and official releases. They contain additional sound effects (added by the editor in edition to the already existing ones from the bootlegs) and clips from the film mixed in, not to mention music on the wrong speed. None are complete by any standard. None contain any new material. And none are preservations which this is. If such a collection already existed I would rejoice at the fact, as other fans would. To my knowledge NO such collection exists. Beyond that, I don't think there's any point of addressing it further.

Secondly, this thread is about THIS collection. A collection that I am calling "Blade Runner: The Complete Collection". As I've said before, the goal of this project is to release the most complete collection of the music as is possible. Using official, and unofficial (bootlegs and such) sources, as well as some sources of my own.

The music of Blade Runner does not belong to a "Blade Runner music group" , or groups, or Vagnelis group, or groups, or anyone that considers themselves an elite fan. This music belongs to ALL Blade Runner and Vangelis fans. For ALL fans to enjoy, reflect on, and even perhaps be inspired by. This music does not belong to the smoky back rooms of over-priced rip-off bootlegs, or even to elite and exclusive chat rooms, music groups, and fan clubs. Or myself.

In the end, this is the music of Vangelis. It is only my wish to present his music as best as I possibly can, my sole intention to preserve and amplify that which he has created.

I do so with great love and respect for the composer and his work.

focuspuller, you just wrote the best post I've seen on this board in a long time. You echo my entire reason for fan editing, and it's why I'm following this release so closely. I can tell you care so much for the music that this will be something extra special, and your motivations are now all the more pure.

Thanks, now I guess I'll HAVE to do a good job. ;)

After getting (and being immensely disappointed in) the 3-disc 25th anniversary soundtrack, I'm looking forward to this more than the X0 Project and ESB/ROTJ Revisited combined! You're doing great work, focuspuller, and I can't wait!

I went back to the piece "Tales Of The Future" and added a further 11 tracks of music elements into the mix. By doing so, the track has been more correctly mixed and expanded into a more complete version. It has gone from 5:27 to 6:32.

I have no idea how the hell you are doing this, but I really cannot wait to hear it.

Truly worthy sentiments, respecting an astonishing collection of music by a great artist.

It's clear that you have a great deal of respect for Vangelis' work and certainly this soundtrack in particular.  I very much look forward to hearing the results after what is clearly an intense labour of love.  I can't thank you enough.  Good luck with your continuing efforts.  I can hardly wait, but the anticipation will just make enjoying the treasure of the end product (not a fitting choice of word) all the more intense.  Take your time...and thank you!

It's been 15 days. This project deserves a bump. *ahem!

Good luck mate, looks fantastic.

I would love to get hold of some ADigitalMan Extended Editions if anyone can help out. Monty Python's Life Of Brian, Love Actually Bloated and Flatulent. Ta!
