hello, im pretty new to these forums, but a regular over at MySpleen.net

i’ve come across a REALLY nice copy of Blade Runner from HDTV, the difference between this copy and the Official DVD release are night a day.

I have the .ts files (hdtv raw files) if any of you would like them to try and a make a dvd from them to distribute, i am not quite so good at it and i already have a million other things to do right now ><

here are some pics to show the difference, the small ones are the dvd, the huge ones are the HDTV ones, obviously

the HDTV file size is almost 6 gigs so I’ll have to mail it out

You only have the 6gb capture? I have the 1920x1080 res 15gb capture, the picture doesn't go blocky during high motion like the 6gb capture, ie when Leon shoots Holden, no blockiness of the gun flashes.

I will be making PAL & NTSC DVDs from the 15gb capture, with 2 audio tracks, the first being the 5.1 mix they put out and the 2nd I'll use the 5.1 mix and add-in Deckard's voiceover, toying with the idea of putting the voiceover on the rear channels instead of the center.

But after I've completed my SW trilogy transfer though.

I did a 40min test DVD using automatic 3:2 pulldown removal, the final DVD I'll manually find the undo settings because I don't trust the automatic ones, the quality is stunning and makes the official directors cut DVD look like it came from VHS or LD. But I can't start it until I've finished my SW trilogy due to the amount of space it's going to take, the 3:2 pulldown removal will probably take a few days instead of normally a few hours for a captured film due to the sheer size of the film.

I'm glad to see Citizen doing this. I was able to download the 15GB .ts files and make myself a DVD out of it with some simple freeware tools. For a newbie, I'm satisfied with my version but it was always something to chide me over until the real pros took over.

If there's a problem with the HD image, it's that it looks soft at times.

also i have no problem with someone else taking their time and doing a higher quality version, ill be doing the pee pee dance waiting for it to hit the "scene".

i'm just glad that i helped drum up some interest for this HDTV version.

No luck, I would have downloaded it and made you a copy. I could only find some WMP high def file, no real ts file.

There is a set of .ts files for blade runner on a.b.hdtv right now, about 40-41 days old. Is this it?

I have heard truly great things about this film (it's ranked next to 2001 and the original Star Wars on wikipedia in terms of the greatest science fiction films). I'm planning to read the book it's based on before I actually watch it. So, I suppose I'll be getting my copy of it from here, as the director's cut seems of poor quality.
