I once thought as you do. Then I grew to like it. Now I only hate its name, the rationale behind its existence, and the shape of its blade.

Oh yes, I finally figured out which lightsaber colour’s my least favourite: purple-white with shimmering rainbow colours ala Gantoris’ lightsaber from the Jedi Academy Trilogy. That thing’s too outrageous even for me.
Runner-up would be gray with gold sparks (ala Tenel Ka’s first lightsaber from the Young Jedi Knights series).

Wait, what? There’s actually a rainbow lightsaber in Legends?
(EDIT: I googled it, but all I can find are pictures of a guy with a regular-looking purple lightsaber. I guess even the illustrators thought it was too crazy.)

There were at least two of 'em. I recall Luke finding a lightsaber with a “pearlescent blade” in The Courtship of Princess Leia.

My favourite lightsaber color is green or, even better, cyan. Red also looks very good and elegant, I’d always choose a red one in KOTOR2 (even when playing as a jedi).
I can’t decide on the worst one, though. Maybe yellow?

I actually really like Yellow as a lightsaber colour. The colour just makes a lot of sense to me when dealing with a Lightsaber.
Then again it could simply be that I’m used to it as I’m a big fan the old Marvel SW comics.
(The incorrect colours might bug some people, but I actually think it looked really cool some times.)
Plus, I always gave myself a yellow lightsaber when playing Jedi Knight II: Jedi Academy as a kid. Though in all fairness that was mostly just to annoy my brother who really hated yellow lightsabers (ditto on my choice of species.)

There is no picture of it. To the best of my googling, it was only ever described like that in Dark Apprentice. Every other mention of it dropped the rainbow.

Red is too angry for me, and yellow always looked cheap and gross to me (like amber LEDs on old electronics).
