Everyone's always going on and on about how beautiful Cate Blanchett is, but I think she's kind of creepy looking (not a bad actress, but creepy looking). What say all of you?

She's got a very ethereal beauty. Almost mystical in a sense. When she was Galadriel, she was gorgeous, but in a very otherworldly sort of way. She is beautiful, no question. But like any Hollywood actress, one makeup or outfit mishap and it all goes to hell.

I feel the same way about her as you feel about Uma Thurman, except for the emaciated part...

Sometimes she seems pretty, and others she seems like some mutated freak. No offense to Galadriel fans.
BTW, does anybody know if her transformed state in LotR: FotR was her photo-shopped up or completely CGI?

I think it was actually more like Gollum, in that she performed, but they used her performance to shape a CG version of her. BTW, I think she's very attractive as Katherine Hepburn in The Aviator. Something about redheads, I guess, since I also find Julianne Moore attractive.
