I'm doing an edit of ROTS right now, and I was wondering if I can download some Battle Droid voices that are similar to that of the first two Prequels. Possibly from the Battlefront games or anything. I don't care what they are saying, as long as it sounds consistent.

Here's how to a dalek voice.


In Cool Edit/Adobe Audition, record yourself doing your best Dalek impression possible then
highlight the sound waveform and select Generate Tones. Select Square Wave
and tick Modulate and set the Base Frequency to somewhere between 100 and
300 Hz then click OK. If you want you can also add a flanger effect.


I imagine the only difference is to increase the pitch of the voice a bit higher after doing this.

This was something I wanted to do for my own ROTS edit too. I ended up just recycling and cobbling together the battle droid dialogue from Ep1 and 2 and using it in the appropriate places. I tried fiddling with the existing ROTS voices but they still sounded like they were filled with helium.

Can anyone upload their battle droid voices? This is the biggest editing frustration for me too.

I also wanted to find an isolated sound effect of the battle droid's "walking" sound from Episode I and incorporate that too. Same for the destroyer droids.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Here are my rips from the ep1 & 2 dvd's. Some are usable some are not since they have sfx or music mixed in. Most of the walking and rolling sfx for the droids have some audible music but I put them in there too. BTW, the actual items used to create the battle droid walk sfx were a mop ringer and a tortilla maker according the Sound featurette on sw.com.
